Happy Sunday, happy new year and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Time flies, we are headed into the fourth week of January imagine that😹. As always I am truly happy and grateful for this day💯,many wanted to see it but didn't, so we are all blessed. Thank you for being here yet again and before bedtime, let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also some of the trending stories. Here we go again, come on 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. Then I extended into the park for a nice long morning walk. Next I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and then the afternoon saw me go out to the mall for some groceries and window shopping😹.
Then I was back home for a short but refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some you tube videos and news. The AFCON had some good games just like yesterday.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk, a rather short one just to stretch out my legs. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, just another quiet Sunday, of course with the usual political shenanigans😹.
Globally, Gaza trending as the Palestinian death toll since October 7 has now surpassed 25,000😭. The grim milestone comes as Israel pressed on with the war in Gaza. PM Netanyahu has said it will go on for months n months until Hamas is totally defeated😿.
PM Netanyahu has also rejected any Palestinian sovereignty after the ongoing war. His opposition to a Palestinian state has angered Israel allies like UK and US😹. The UN general assembly has also called for a peaceful settlement based on a two state solution.
Let's go to Europe, where Ukraine drones have hit a St Petersburg gas terminal🙀. Meanwhile deadly blasts have hit a market in Russia held Ukraine city of Donetsk.
Across the pond in the US, attacks flew as Trump grew lead in New Hampshire 🙀. Haley has avoided attacking Trump in the past, but she gone on the offensive ahead of the primary😹.
Finally in crazy weather, nearly 90 people are feared dead after fierce winter storms hit the US😭. At least 25 weather related deaths have been reported in Tennessee, with another 16 in Oregon😿, which remains under a state of emergency following ice storms.
Tens of thousands of people remain without power across wide swathes of the country🙀. Do stay warm wherever you are. All's well that ends well 💯.
