Happy Caturday 🐈 happy new year and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so give it up for him and other furry friends 😻. We just began the weekend, hopefully you are having a nice day this far. As for me I have had a great day stepping it out and just about now I wanna fill you in on how it went and also share some of the trending stories. Thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 and jogging 👟 around the neighborhood 🌲.Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a quick stop at the mall for groceries. Next, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of youtube. There were some interesting soccer matches going on in the AFCON.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, the devastation in Gaza kept going. Israel has been bombing around Rafah and Khan Younis😿.
As always deaths reported, death toll at 24,927😭.
Nasser hospital about to shut down due to continued shelling around that area, meanwhile the injured keep flowing in😿.
Syria trending as Iran's revolution guard says four of its members were killed by a missile strike in Damascus🙀. Two of those killed were high ranking members. The missile hit a high security neighbourhood where senior Syrian govt figures live. Iran blamed Israel for that attack and said it would respond, no word from Israel😹.
Another Israeli air strike is said to have killed a member of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon😿.
Let's go to Israel, where protests against the war in Gaza were held in Haifa. Protesters calling for a ceasefire and peace.
In Tel Aviv, thousands turned up for the weekly protests asking the govt to do more to free Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
Some families of those hostages have put up tents ⛺ and camped outside the house of PM Netanyahu, some on hunger strike too🙀.
Germany trending as tens of thousands of people gathered across the country to protest against the far right political party and its stance against migrants. Protesters mocked the AFD party with signs saying " fascism is not an alternative" 😹.
Across the pond, in February, the Dominican republic will become the first Caribbean nation to test a four day work week. The six month pilot will be voluntary for companies and will not involve a pay cut for participating employees.
