Hello everyone 👋,

Happy Tuesday, happy new year 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I am definitely grateful for this day💯. It's been another ordinary day and it's now time to wrap things up and get ready for bed 💤. As always thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending stories. Here we go again 💨.
So as usual I had two major walking sessions. Starting off with the fast paced morning session that was quite enjoyable in the fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the little daily household chores. Later in the afternoon I stopped by the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. I squeezed my nap into the rest of the afternoon. Then the final evening walk happened before I got back home safe and sound calling it a day. Of course in between I was watching the news including crypto , lets get into that next.
Trending locally, the usual political shenanigans😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, another devastating day in Gaza as Israel intensified airstrikes killing 158 civilians in 24 hours🙀. The total death toll is now at 24,285 Palestinians dead😭.
Still in the region, Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire across southern Lebanon border 🙀.
And Iran have hit targets in Iraq near Erbil. This has prompted Iraq to recall it's ambassador.
The houthis in Yemen also trending as they hit a cargo ship headed to Malta. They have vowed not to stop attacks on ships as long as Israel keeps bombing Gaza🙀.
Because of the attacks UK oil giant- shell, has indefinitely suspended shipment through the red sea route.
The us navy says it has confiscated a weapons cache that Iran was sending to the houthis😹.
Over in Europe, the world economic forum is on in Davos. The war in Ukraine and also Gaza top of the agenda as world leaders meet.
Across the pond in the US, White House says there are serious and intense discussions going on in Qatar about another deal for ceasefire and release of captives in Gaza.
Finally, former president Donald Trump has won the Iowa caucus badly beating Haley and DeSantis😹. Looks like we are headed for a showdown between Biden and Trump later in the year.
