Hello Everyone,

Happy Caturday 🐈, happy new year🎊 and a very warm welcome from Bob and yours truly😹. It's Bob's day to claw 🐾 into the blockchain, so let all the kitties in the world have fun😹😻. Anyway, it's been a great day and as it fades away, I am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share some of the trending stories that made headlines. Thank you for reading and let's get started 💨.
So as usual, I kicked off early with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning and though it was short walk, I enjoyed the fresh morning breeze💯.
Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a quick stop at the mall for groceries. Next, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of you tube and some soccer matches. As always the EPL had good matches.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.
Globally, another devastating day in Gaza as the Israeli airstrikes kept going.
135 Palestinians killed in 24 hours😿. The latest death toll at 23,843 killed and over 60,000 injured😭.
In Israel, thousands gathered for the weekly rally in Tel Aviv. This to put pressure on the govt to do more to free the 136 hostages being held in Gaza. There were also protests against PM Netanyahu, the crowd asking him to resign🙀.
Also trending US forces have targeted Yemen houthi rebels in several airstrikes on capital Sana🙀. US president Biden says the strikes are direct response to attacks on Red Sea shipping route. The US saying it has notified Iran who are thought to be funding the houthis😹.
Also trending, pro Palestinian demonstrations have been held in multiple cities around the world. The crowds asking for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Starting from Washington, London, Johannesburg, Baghdad, Jarkarta, Kauala Lumpur and Seoul. Is anybody listening?
Trending in Asia,Taiwan have just elected a pro-sovereign leader angering China😹.64 year old Harvard educated Lai Ching-Te is now the new president, fingers crossed, we don't need another unrest.
Finally, the African cup of Nations or AFCON has kicked off in Cote D'Ivoire or Ivory coast. The very first match between the hosts and Guinea Bissau is underway. It's gonna be an exciting tournament as we wait to see who will be the next African champion. May the best teams excel💯.
