TGIF 🍻🍷 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are bang in the middle of December and the weekend is upon us yet again as we inch towards the holiday season. Hope you had or are having a swell day. It's now that time of day to share some of the trending stories and also how my day has been. As always many thanks for stopping by and let's take it away 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. A nice short walk then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies at the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, as usual Gaza trending. Israel says it mistakenly killed three Israeli hostages in Gaza. The IDF says it wrongly believed the trio were a threat and opened fire on them😭. Am still wondering how that happened, seems Israel came to Gaza to murder anything that moves, how aggressive can you be to shoot at someone who isn't even armed🙀, murder they wrote💯. They probably thought those were Palestinians.
Speaking of murder, the death toll in Gaza stood at 18,700 dead so far😭.
An Al Jazeera camera man was killed in shelling in Khan Younis south of Gaza😿. Paramedics could not reach him because of rubble and continuous shelling.
Also trending, US security advisor Jake Sullivan stopped by in Ramallah for talks with Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. Mahmoud Abbas called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and return to diplomatic talks.
In the EU summit in Brussels, political shenanigans as Hungarian PM Victor Orban has vetoed a decision to give Ukraine aid of 50 billion euros. He said his decision is pragmatic and doesn't believe Ukraine will win the war🙀.
Speaking of diplomacy, the UN general assembly meeting on Gaza is underway across the pond in New York.
Finally, let's end with a miraculous story of a baby found alive in a tree after Tennessee tornado🙀. The mother thought the four month old was killed when his bassinet was sucked up into the storm. The tornado tore apart their mobile home but they only suffered minor cuts and bruises. Definitely a lucky escape especially for the baby, by the grace of God💯.
