WE HAVE A WINNER

It has been a month of glory for the world of #sports. #Football fans have to cut their league season right in December to go watch the biggest competition in #Qatar. It has been a thrilling effect if you are a fan of the sport. I managed to watch maybe two games in total. This is the season to earn a little extra so I profited the time to do the work. Looking at the size of Qatar you wonder where they find location to build 8 gigantic stadiums for the event.

If there is one benefit for Qatar, the tournament puts the country right in first destination for the next 20 years. I know billions were spent and they may never recover it back. For history lessons Qatar held a Football tournament with little to no hiccups. The next one is four years will be close to home. I think one game will be played in Miami. As you know Mexico, USA and Canada are the hosts nations for 2026.

No need to build any new stadium for the three countries since they are all great Football nations. It is easy to convert a #American Football stadium to Football. The weird part for the next big event we will have more teams qualified to participate than before. It will be around 48 teams. Be ready to watch some teams just coming to participate with no hope to advance to knockout round. Football is the world sport. Almost every country plays Football.

Argentina is the least team I expect to advance all the way to win it all. Losing the first game to the Saudis, you think they were done. They found a way with @Messi to come back and win it gracefully. Lately penalty kick is the nervous thing you do not want to miss. Messi did score nicely on penalty. Prior he has been doing badly with penalties, so he found a way to stick in the right corner.

France did play to get where they are. Unfortunately it is not how they should play. They miss a lot of big names this season. #Mbappé did spectacular by scoring so quick it gives France the opportunity to prolong the game. Finally the cup is gone from European nation to South America where Brasil wishes he could have done better. Winning the world cup is the main piece for a player to solidify his resume. Messi has done that. So sad #CR7 and #neymar are not part of this elite squad.

WORLD CUP AND MONEY

It will be crazy to talk about world cup and think you can just pass on the money effect. Qatar as small it is, this country is rich with natural gas. It is like they are walking on money. Indeed it is. It is reported that Qatar spent $220 billion to give us this spectacle. This is 15X what Russia spent for its world cup in 2018. Do not forget Qatar has to build everything to get there. Roads, hotels, stadiums all built from scratch to get there. Close to a million folks are in the tiny nation for the world cup.

From what I see it is a success. Deep inside they are issue unrelented to #football as you know.
$42 million is the amount Argentina will collect for winning the cup. If you want to do a quick match you can see each player can easily earn more than a million since they have around to 22 players in the squad.

After all World cup is a big event. I did not hear much sportscasters talking about it in the US. As you know only FOX carries the event. Most US sportscasters do not know much about the sport and it is not part of their agenda to do so. 2026 will be different. it will be in Summer where there is no really big event expect for baseball.
A lot of things can happen in 4 years. Mbappé will be back. USA teams should be better to advance and past second round.
Messi hard to say cause he will be in the forties.
I did enjoy the highlights and see how beautiful the game is.
