Professional cycling is a brutal sport
Not for pussies
Just about a month ago, Wout Van Aert had to to abandon the Vuelta (Tour of Spain), after a crash with his knee on a rock. This after someone in front of him fell. He had a 6 centimetre deep wound in his right knee. He tried to cycle further but it was impossible. So, a forfait in the green and polkadot jersey was his fate.
It took him a while to be mobile enough to train again. But now he is back on the bike, but the marks on his knee are forever.
It shows once again how brutal this sport really is. With sadly deadly accidents every year. But the guys and girls keep on pushing those pedals, no matter what!
RESPECT!
Sincerely,

It's not a very safe sport, and people do get killed. Professional cycling is one tough sport and takes a lot of conditioning. Or if you're Lance Armstrong, lots of steroids.... lol
Well, to be honest, in Lance’s era, they were all using EPO, blooddoping and growth hormones,… He was still the best!
He was a great athlete back in those days, but he never should have admitted to "enhancing"....
!LOL
Well, he had bullied too many people, he was cornered completely. Love his podcast now though
