Hola, querido hiver.

Como medio mundo, mi atención hoy ha estado dedicada a la ceremonia de coronación del rey Carlos de Inglaterra. Me gusta seguir este tipo de acontecimientos grandiosos. Me hacen sentir parte de la historia, aunque solo sea un par de ojos a miles de kilómetros observando una pantalla de televisión.

Eventos como el de hoy reflejan tradiciones que se han perpetuado durante siglos. Cada objeto posee un significado más allá del valor material. Son legados que me recuerdan que soy un eslabón más de la cadena, que nada empezó cuando nací y nada ocurrirá cuando me vaya. Por eso formar parte de un mismo latir en comunión con millones de personas me emociona.

Si tuviera que elegir mi momento favorito de lo que he visto, me quedo con el detalle de la coronación de la reina Camila. De manera inconsciente iba a sujetarse la corona cuando se la colocaban, se ha notado que estaba resistiéndose a moverse. Que era antinatural para ella. Eso me ha gustado, refleja que es una señora amable y su sonrisa abierta lo confirma.

La verdad es que no me cambio por ninguno de los que estaban invitados ni por los protagonistas. Son presos de una vida que no les corresponde. Los lujos no compensan la ausencia de libertad. Siendo sincera, me dan lástima.

Mi reflexión

Que la belleza es algo aleatorio es más que evidente. Nadie puede elegir su cuerpo al nacer, ni cómo se desarrolla más adelante, mucho menos su declive inmisericorde. Además, lo que se considera bello en estos tiempos dista mucho del cánon ideal en la época de Epicteto. Las modas son cada vez más pasajeras, buscando un consumismo que nos da señales de agotamiento aunque las desoigamos.

Dicen que la verdadera belleza está en el interior y no les falta razón. Esta podemos tratar de moldearla cultivando las virtudes que perseguían los estoicos. Es cuestión de regarla cada día perdonándonos cuando fallemos. Cada instante es una nueva oportunidad para actuar como deseas ser. Para eso no hace falta dinero, ni poder, ni posesiones. Lo llevas dentro de ti y, sin embargo, los demás lo reconocerán aunque lo ocultes.

Mi meta es mejorar, ni más ni menos. Tan fácil y difícil como eso. Ser lo mejor que pueda alcanzar. Eso conlleva situaciones incómodas, momentos de incomprensión, sentimiento de soledad. Pero sé que es el camino que debo recorrer y me siento preparada para continuarlo.

Por la tarde: más curación de contenidos, eventos del Discord de Pizza, escritura, paseo con el perrito.

Hi, dear hiver.

Like half the world, my attention today has been devoted to the coronation ceremony of King Charles of England. I like to follow such grandiose events. They make me feel part of history, even if I am just a pair of eyes thousands of miles away watching a television screen.

Events like today's reflect traditions that have been perpetuated for centuries. Each object has a meaning beyond its material value. They are legacies that remind me that I am just another link in the chain, that nothing started when I was born and nothing will happen when I am gone. That is why being part of the same heartbeat in communion with millions of people moves me.

If I had to choose my favourite moment of what I have seen, I would choose the detail of Queen Camilla's coronation. She was unconsciously holding on to the crown as it was being placed on her, you could see that she was resisting the urge to move. That it was unnatural for her. I liked that, it reflects that she is a kind lady and her open smile confirms it.

The truth is that I don't change for any of the guests or the protagonists. They are prisoners of a life that does not correspond to them. Luxury does not compensate for the absence of freedom. To be honest, I feel sorry for them.

My reflection

That beauty is a random thing is more than evident. No one can choose their body at birth, nor how it develops later on, let alone its merciless decline. Moreover, what is considered beautiful these days is far from the ideal canon of Epictetus' time. Fashions are increasingly fleeting, in pursuit of a consumerism that gives us signs of exhaustion even if we disregard them.

They say that true beauty lies within, and they are right. We can try to mould it by cultivating the virtues pursued by the Stoics. It is a matter of watering it every day by forgiving ourselves when we fail. Every moment is a new opportunity to act as you wish to be. You don't need money, power or possessions for that. You have it within you, and yet others will recognise it even if you hide it.

My goal is to improve, no more, no less. As easy and as difficult as that. To be the best I can be. That entails uncomfortable situations, moments of misunderstanding, feelings of loneliness. But I know that this is the path I have to walk and I feel ready to continue.

Afternoon: more content curation, Pizza Discord events, writing, walk with the doggy.
