Hola, querido hiver.

¿Te he dicho alguna vez que me encanta el barrio en el que vivo? Conserva todavía, aunque cada vez menos, ese sabor a vecindario en los que todos se conocen. Una buena muestra de ellos es el horno al que voy a comprar el pan. Está instalado en la casa que ves en la fotografía. La entrada a la tienda está en la calle principal del barrio, que queda a la izquierda de la foto. Apenas se distingue, pues solo tiene un cartel sobre la puerta y el cristal que permite ver el interior.

Pero al girar la esquina te encuentras esta preciosa fachada lateral. Fue parte del trabajo realizado por los artistas que participaron en el Festival Asalto de 2018. Este mural tiene como autora a Udatxo, de quien te invito a conocer más sobre sus obras.

Mi reflexión

Siempre me ha gustado estar cerca de quienes me parecían más inteligentes que yo, o de quienes podía aprender algo. Es una de las mejores cosas que me ha dado mi insaciable curiosidad: soy buena observadora y derivado de ello aprendo rápido cuando es la temática es de mi interés.

Por otro lado, no niego que también me he sentido atraída por lo que llamo conocer al enemigo. Considero importante saber a qué se dedican aquellos con los que no comulgo en ideas o modos de hacer. A veces descubres que no son tan malos como pensabas, o se les ocurre algo que te puede ser útil; también puede ocurrir justo lo contrario: te confirman a lo que no quieres llegar.

La dificultad reside en establecer unos límites claros que no debo traspasar. Aquí es donde suelo caerme con todo el equipo porque peco de confiada, y es en lo que ando trabajándome desde el último año y medio. Los malos no llevan un cartel en la frente que te advierta de su peligro, sino que se disfrazan de corderillos desvalidos. Ahí radica la cuestión primordial, aprender a detectarlos y alejarnos de inmediato cuando eso suceda.

Have I ever told you that I love the neighbourhood where I live? It still retains, although less and less, the flavour of a neighbourhood where everyone knows each other. A good example of this is the oven where I go to buy bread. It is installed in the house you see in the photograph. The entrance to the shop is on the main street of the neighbourhood, which is to the left of the photo. You can hardly make it out, as it only has a sign above the door and the glass that allows you to see inside.

But turn the corner and you come across this beautiful side façade. It was part of the work done by the artists who participated in the Festival Asalto 2018. The author of this mural is Udatxo, whose work I invite you to learn more about.

My reflection

I have always liked to be around those who seemed smarter than me, or from whom I could learn something. It is one of the best things that my insatiable curiosity has given me: I am a good observer and as a result I learn quickly when the subject matter is of interest to me.

On the other hand, I don't deny that I have also been attracted by what I call knowing the enemy. I consider it important to know what those with whom I don't share ideas or ways of doing things are doing. Sometimes you discover that they are not as bad as you thought, or they come up with something that can be useful to you; the opposite can also happen: they confirm what you don't want to get to.

The difficulty lies in setting clear boundaries that I must not cross. This is where I tend to fall down with the whole team because I am overconfident, and this is what I have been working on for the last year and a half. The bad guys don't wear a sign on their foreheads warning you of their danger, but disguise themselves as helpless lambs. That is the key issue, to learn to spot them and to walk away immediately when that happens.

In the morning: walk with the puppy, shopping for the house and content curation.

Afternoon: reading blog articles and various Hive-related tasks.
