Well yes, I fell for it again!
I bought a Reggina season ticket!
It's been several years since I went to the stadium to watch a soccer match; the last time was 4 years ago, Reggina-Ternana, but it was an impromptu event.
I haven't bought a season ticket since the 2009/2010 soccer season... 14 years is not a short time at all!
I let my best friend convince me, and I don't know why he got the urge to go to the stadium this year; I confess that I wasn't very determined at first but then my wife insisted and in the end I gave in.
By the way, after the bankruptcy and last season in which Reggina was frozen and played under the name of "Fenice Amaranto", this year the company has regained the title, logos and brand and therefore our Reggina has been reborn to new life!
Let's also hope that this is the championship of revenge, even if we win it we would be promoted to Serie C which, for a club that has played for many years between Serie A and B is certainly not the best, but certainly returning to professionalism would already be an achievement.
The amateur league is really poor, to give you an idea, last week at the five-a-side football match one of the players I called played there until a couple of years ago.
It's certainly not easy to play even in Serie D otherwise everyone would do it, the fact remains that it is still a semi-professional championship and, therefore, everything is organized in a much less "serious" way than in a championship where players do that as a profession.
Just to be clear, the Reggina players are all paid by the club and do only that for a living, but there are teams in the various groups where not all players can live only on football; certainly everyone in each team gets a substantial expense reimbursement but, in some clubs there are players who practically play football as a second job and, consequently, have a first one.
But let's not get lost in this bar sports chatter and get back to the main topic... The stadium season ticket!

My hesitation was born from the fact that I didn't want to leave Reny and Samuele alone at home on Sunday afternoon, but then my Wife pointed out to me that it's only a couple of hours and that, among other things, they could also come with me to Reggio and go play with their cousins.
You should know that this Friend who convinced me to go to the stadium is like a Brother to me and his wife is like a Sister, they were my wedding witnesses and, in my life, they have always been present since I was a child; for this reason we introduced them to Samuele as his uncles and then even Simona and Fra's children call me and Reny uncles.
Among other things, one of the two children is called Samuele like our Son... But I swear we didn't copy!
In the end, they could be two hours of recreation for both Samuele who will be able to play in company and for Reny who will have a chat over a good coffee with Simo and, for me and Fra, they will be two hours in which to distract ourselves a bit and the opportunity to spend some time together more often than we have been able to do lately.
Sure, he will probably be absent in October and November but, at most, I will lend my season ticket to Simona's brother so that the games that my Family and I will be in Rome will not be missed.
What can I say, I'm all excited, as I have made clear in the past I prefer to watch the games on television both for convenience and because they are actually better seen; Reggina, however, unfortunately, given the series in which it has sunk, is broadcast by a local television and honestly, in this case, despite there being no replays and despite the fact that we will have to deal with the weather, the game will be seen much better from the field.
Which makes you understand how far behind we are compared to the rest of the world here in Calabria, to be clear our local TV is a bit like the local TV that we watched in Italy in the 90s... which weren't even bad to tell the truth!
I'm not even going to say that the Stadium, net of everything, has a special charm; when I say the Stadium for me it is the Oreste Granillo, the home of Reggina and the place where as a child I wanted to play many matches as a footballer and it is also the place where as a teenager and as an adult I saw many Serie A matches, realizing at least the dream of seeing some of the strongest players in the world live.
Anyway I don't want to go on too long and then my Baby and my Wife are calling me so I say goodbye.

Ho fatto l'abbonamento alla Reggina!
È da parecchi anni che non vado allo stadio a vedere una partita di calcio; l'ultima volta è stato 4 anni fa, Reggina-Ternana, fu però un evento estemporaneo.
Non faccio l'abbonamento invece dalla stagione calcistica 2009/2010... 14 anni non sono per niente pochi!
Mi sono fatto convincere dal mio migliore amico che non so come mai quest'anno si è fatto prendere dalla voglia di andare allo stadio; confesso che non ero molto deciso all'inizio ma poi anche mia moglie ha insistito e alla fine ho ceduto.
Tra l'altro, dopo il fallimento e la scorsa stagione in cui la Reggina era congelata e si giocava con il nome di "Fenice Amaranto", quest'anno la società ha riacquistato titolo, loghi e marchio e quindi la nostra Reggina è rinata a nuova vita!
Speriamo anche che questo sia il campionato della rivalsa, pur vincendolo verremmo promossi in Serie C che, per una società che ha fatto tanti anni tra serie A e B non è sicuramente il massimo, certo però che già tornare nel professionismo sarebbe una conquista.
La lega Dilettanti è davvero scadente, per farti capire, la settimana passata alla partita di calcetto uno dei giocatori che ho chiamato ci giocava fino a un paio di anni fa.
Sicuramente non è semplice giocare nemmeno in serie D altrimenti lo farebbero tutti, resta il fatto che è pur sempre un campionato semi-professionistico e, pertanto, tutto è organizzato in maniera molto meno "seria" che in un campionato dove i giocatori fanno quello per professione.
Giusto per intenderci, i calciatori della Reggina sono tutti stipendiati dalla società e per vivere fanno solo quello, ci sono però nei vari gironi squadre dove non tutti i giocatori possono vivere solo di calcio; sicuramente un rimborso spese cospicuo lo prendono tutti in ogni squadra ma, in alcune società ci sono elementi che praticamente giocano a calcio come secondo lavoro e, di conseguenza, ne hanno un primo.
Non perdiamoci però in queste chiacchiere da bar sport e torniamo all'argomento principale... L'abbonamento allo stadio!
Che poi, a pensarci bene, anche quello potrebbe essere un argomento da Bar Sport, eh eh!
La mia titubanza nasceva dal fatto che non volevo lasciar soli a casa la domenica pomeriggio Reny e Samuele, poi però mia Moglie mi ha fatto notare che si tratta solo di un paio di ore e che, tra l'altro, potrebbero venire anche loro con me a Reggio e andare a giocare con i cuginetti.
Devi sapere che questo Amico che mi ha convinto ad andare allo stadio è come un Fratello per me e sua moglie è come una Sorella, sono stati i miei testimoni di nozze e, nella mia vita, sono sempre presenti da quando ero bambino; per questo motivo a Samuele li abbiamo presentati come gli zii e poi anche i figli di Simona e Fra chiamano zii me e Reny.
Tra l'altro uno dei due bambini si chiama Samuele come nostro Figlio... Ma giuro che non abbiamo copiato!
Alla fine potrebbero essere due ore ricreative sia per Samuele che potrà giocare in compagnia che per Reny che farà quattro chiacchiere davanti a un buon caffè con Simo e, per me e Fra, saranno due ore in cui distrarsi un po' e l'occasione per passare un po' di tempo insieme più spesso di come abbiamo potuto fare ultimamente.
Certo, probabilmente nei mesi di ottobre e novembre sarà assente ma, al massimo, presterò il mio abbonamento al fratello di Simona così le partite in cui io e la mia Family saremo a Roma non andranno perse.
Cosa dirti, sono tutto un fremito, come ho chiarito in passato le partite preferisco vederle in televisioni sia per un discorso di comodità, sia perché effettivamente si vedono meglio; la Reggina però purtroppo, vista la serie in cui è sprofondata, viene trasmessa da una televisione locale e onestamente, in questo caso, nonostante non ci siano i replay e nonostante dovremo confrontarci con le intemperie del tempo, la partita si vedrà molto meglio dal campo.
Il che Ti fa capire quanto siamo indietro rispetto al resto del mondo qui in Calabria, per intenderci la nostra TV locale è un po' come le televisioni locali che in Italia si vedevano negli anni 90... che poi non erano nemmeno malaccio a dire il vero!
Non sto qui a dire poi che lo Stadio, al netto di tutto, ha un fascino speciale; quando dico lo Stadio per me è l'Oreste Granillo, la casa della Reggina e il posto in cui da bambino avrei voluto giocare tante partite come calciatore ed è anche il posto in cui da adolescente e da adulto tante partite di Serie A ho visto, realizzando almeno il sogno di vedere alcuni dei giocatori più forti al mondo dal vivo.
