What a dull, gray morning, it’s thawing everywhere, the usual Sunday bike ride to Volkspark Jungfernheide. The white splendor was gone, leaving behind a soggy mess. Even the lake, where I did my breathing and meditation exercises, was cracking open, painting wild patterns on its thawing surface. After the hike, I returned to my bike, only to find that some asshole had stolen my front fender. I wish them a spectacular bike wreck. As if that wasn’t enough, my rear tire had a message for me on the way home, it has not enough tread left and let me know by slipping right out from under me. No major crash, just a hard hit on my elbow, which is now throbbing. Guess a new fender and tires are in order.

Was für ein trister, grauer Morgen, Tauwetter, die übliche Sonntagsradtour zum Volkspark Jungfernheide. Die weiße Pracht war verschwunden, übrig blieb nur ein matschiges Chaos. Selbst der See, an dem ich meine Atem- und Meditationsübungen mache, taute auf und zeichnete wilde Muster auf seiner brüchigen Oberfläche. Nach der Wanderung ging es zurück zum Rad, nur um festzustellen, dass mir irgendein Arschloch das vordere Schutzblech geklaut hatte. Ich wünsche demjenigen einen Fahrrad-Totalschaden. Und als ob das nicht reichte, meldete sich auf dem Heimweg mein Hinterreifen zu Wort, Profil ist runter und das ließ er mich wissen, indem er mir unterm Hintern wegrutschte. Kein großer Unfall, nur mit dem Ellbogen aufgeschlagen, der jetzt ordentlich schmerzt. Ein neues Schutzblech und frische Reifen stehen dann wohl an.
