Wednesday ☀️ 9210

The cold refused to relent, another morning with temperatures plunging close to -10°C. The sky stayed crystal clear, painting the perfect backdrop for yet another crisp, clean sunrise. Somehow, the chill cut deeper today, slipping past layers and settling into my bones. Maybe it was just the sheer accumulation of freezing days catching up with me. I took the Luiseninsel route through the palace gardens, where winter’s grip remained unbroken. Everything was still wrapped in a pristine white blanket, the lakes sealed under thick ice. The sun performed its daily spectacle, casting long golden beams through the bare trees. I paused at the frozen lake for a short breathing meditation, wait, haven’t I done this before? Déjà vu. The same route, the same scene, the same silence. But no, there was a new detail today. As you can see in the photo, the River Spree is starting to freeze, its surface slowly surrendering to winter’s hold. And look how the sun catches the palace clock tower, highlighting it like a spotlight on a stage.

Die Kälte ließ nicht nach, wieder ein Morgen mit Temperaturen nahe -10 °C. Der Himmel blieb glasklar und bot die perfekte Kulisse für einen weiteren knackig-kalten Sonnenaufgang. Irgendwie ging mir die Kälte heute tiefer unter die Haut, kroch durch die Kleidung und setzte sich in den Knochen fest. Vielleicht war es einfach die Summe all der eisigen Tage, die sich bemerkbar machte. Ich nahm die Route über die Luiseninsel durch die Schlossgärten, wo der Winter noch immer das Sagen hatte. Alles lag unter einer makellosen weißen Decke, die Seen waren fest zugefroren. Die Sonne gab ihre gewohnte Vorstellung, warf lange goldene Strahlen durch die kahlen Bäume. Am zugefrorenen See hielt ich kurz inne für eine Atemmeditation, moment mal, das kenne ich doch? Déjà-vu. Dieselbe Strecke, dieselbe Szene, dieselbe Stille. Doch nein, heute gab es ein kleines neues Detail. Wie man auf dem Foto sieht, beginnt die Spree langsam zuzufrieren, ihre Oberfläche gibt sich allmählich der Kälte geschlagen. Und seht nur, wie die Sonne den Uhrenturm des Schlosses anstrahlt, als hätte sie einen Scheinwerfer genau darauf gerichtet.
