Winter still has us firmly in its grip. The temperature had risen last night, and snow had fallen thickly across the city. After fulfilling my civic duty at the town hall and dropping my ballot into the box for the current federal election, I took a small walk through the snow-covered palace gardens. There, I met a very friendly squirrel, probably hungry from the sub-zero temperatures and frost that had been lingering for a while. Back home, I warmed up with a hot cup of coffee, the kind that melts away the chill and lifts the spirit.

Der Winter hat uns noch fest im Griff. Letzte Nacht war die Temperatur gestiegen und dicker Schnee war gefallen. Nach meiner Erfüllung der Bürgerpflicht im Rathaus, als ich meinen Wahlzettel für die aktuelle Bundestagswahl eingeworfen hatte, machte ich einen eher kurzen Morningwalk durch den verschneiten Schlossgarten. Dort traf ich ein sehr zutrauliches Eichhörnchen, wahrscheinlich hungrig von den langen Tagen mit Minusgraden und dem Frost. Zuhause angekommen, wärmte ich mich mit einer heißen Tasse Kaffee, die den inneren Frost schmolz und die Stimmung hob.
