Sometimes, you just need a slow start. After sleeping in, something long overdue, I stepped outside into a cold, still morning, the air hovering near freezing. The wind held its breath, the rain stayed away, and my new gloves wrapped my hands in warmth. A quiet morning walk through the palace gardens felt like the perfect pace. Even the mandarin ducks seemed to agree, lazily snoozing by the water’s edge. The day unfolded like a well-worn book: no rush, no noise, just calm clarity. I read for hours, letting the words sink in and recharge my weary mind. By the end of this unhurried Friday, I felt lighter, freer, like I had pressed pause on the world just long enough to remember what steady felt like.
