Winter had whispered its warning, but this morning, it made its presence felt. After weeks, I finally ventured out for a longer walk, crisp, cold, and just windy enough to keep me awake. Last night's rain had left patches of ice glinting underfoot, a subtle reminder that the frost was here to stay. The thermometer flirted with freezing, painting the path with a fragile glaze of slipperiness. But oh, the reward! A fiery sunrise broke through the string of gray mornings, spilling gold and pink across the horizon. I paused, letting the moment linger, savoring its warmth despite the chill and shot it to share with you here. Returning home, the contrast hit like magic, the joy of peeling off icy layers and wrapping cold hands around a steaming cup of coffee or tea. That first sip felt like a quiet celebration, a small victory over the biting air. Winter may be creeping in, but mornings like these make it worth braving the cold.
