It was a crisp but dry morning, the kind that clears your head without biting too hard. For the first time in a week, I finally had the energy, and the time, for a proper morning walk. Ten thousand steps later, my body felt refreshed, as if shaking off the last of a lingering cold. The fridge, however, wasn’t so lucky; it stood barren, demanding a grocery run. On the way back, I passed the old power plant. Only one stubborn tower of the big buildung remaining, a skeletal staircase clinging to nothing but memories. It reminded me of how things can seem invincible until, suddenly, they’re not. Watching it come down, piece by piece, felt oddly final, like closing a long-forgotten chapter, maybe the crows feel the same for their old resting place on the now gone roof.
