This morning, I skipped the usual exercise routine, freezing temperatures and a scratchy throat begged me to stay cozy. After an exhausting workweek, I let myself sleep in, savoring the extra rest that felt as warm and welcome as a thick blanket. Later, I took a short stroll, just enough to shake off the lingering fatigue and grab a few treats for the weekend from the nearby supermarket. Passing by the old heating plant, I noticed only two of the three remaining towers of the big buiding were still standing, a stark reminder that soon, the whole thing will fade into history, like a relic disappearing into dust.
