There I was, standing in the legendary Zoo Palast cinema before the break of dawn, while most of the city was still wrapped in darkness. The alarm had jolted me awake at 4 a.m., reminding me I had a 5 a.m. crew call to set up for a show. Thankfully, the venue was practically around the corner, so I could stumble over half-awake without much effort. Hall 1, the largest theater with its massive silver screen, was mine to control for a few fleeting hours. Just yesterday, hundreds of people had filled those comfy seats, watching Beetlejuice under the same towering screen. Now, it was my turn to bring it all to life. After the show, while dismantling the tech, one of the sweet staff members handed each of us a bag of warm, buttery popcorn as if it were the most normal thing. It wasn’t glamorous, but in those quiet moments, with the smell of fresh popcorn still lingering, I couldn’t help but feel a bit of magic, yeah!
