This morning I met one of this year's new swan families waking up in their night roost on the Landwehr Canal in the early, still very low, morning sun. Mom and the babies were still a little sleepy, but Dad was already wide awake and alert to see who was passing by. I said hello, took a photo, wished them a relaxing day and moved on.
