Arsenal Missed The Chance.

Arsenal missed the chance to get into the top 4 and displace Manchester United in the race for it but they fired blank with Burnley who would cherish the 1 point gained from Arsenal still with a lot of outstanding matches to play as they sat at the bottom of the log.

It was an uneventful outing for Arsenal as nothing seem to work out. They threatened but not enough to get them the needed 3 points as Burnley frustrated them as many had hoped. Playing against Burnley has never been an easy task for most teams and Arsenal found out as the game ended in a stalemate; just as they both started it.

Burnley had the first decent chance of the game after McNeil produced a strike on the edge of the box only to be denied by the strong hand and alertness of Ramsdale. He was trying to pick out the top corner but Ramsdale wouldn't want to be beaten at his near post that easy and he forced a corner kick instead.

The captain of the game; Lacazette produced a darting run as he ran into Burnley's box only to be let down by his finish. He couldn't get his strike on target as his effort flashed wide. You would have bet on him to score from that sort of range as customary to his amazing strikes.

Burnley produced a double save from the defence line as they frustrated the effort of Arsenal right inside the box. Martin Odegaard was first denied as his shot was blocked off. The rebound fell to Lacazette inside the box but his shot was also blocked off by the resilient defence of Burnley.

Another shocking miss came for Arsenal after Saka produced his individual brilliance to evade his marker. He found Lacazette whose turn still didn't afford him enough space to shoot and he laid the pass to Kieran Tierney whose shot was wayward, far out and over, much to the frustration of the fans. Arsenal should be burying such a chance.

Saka added himself to the list of those who missed chances for Arsenal as he managed to cut inside after being found but his intended curling effort wasn't on target as it flew wide. Odegaard had a chance to make his mark in the game for Arsenal but his freekick at the edge of the box dropped on the roof of the net instead. If the ball had dropped an inch, it would have been perfect to score.

Smith-Rowe was denied twice in the game. The first was a brilliant low drive corner kick picking him out inside the box and his decent low strike as well was cleared to safety by Burnley's goalkeeper for a corner kick. Saka controlled the ball well and passed to Lacazette in the box. Lacazette tried a poked pass to Smith-Rowe and his strike was deflected for a corner by a resilient defence line.

Lacazette had the chance to finally get one for Arsenal and secure a top 4 spot for them, for now, after Smith-Rowe ran the length of the byline with such rigour. He picked out the run of Lacazette inside the box but Lacazette could only guide his effort off target as he missed by just a whisker.

The game ended 0-0 and Arsenal would be disappointed while Burnley would see it as a point gained especially in a match that Arsenal thoroughly dominated.

This match showed why we need a clinical finisher to finish these chances we had, along with a better midfielder to control the tempo and move the ball better.

I totally agree. I was shocked Lacazette missed that last chance.
