And The Good Form Continues...

From struggling earlier in the season to winning 10 games on the trot, who would have expected that Arsenal would get their season back on track and be ahead of Manchester United with 3 points despite the pressure Mikel Arteta faced earlier in the season when they were terribly struggling to convince fans and even Premier League rivals of their quality.

It has been a magnificent run by Mikel Arteta's men and the league table doesn't lie as Arsenal moved into 5th position, just 2 points behind 4th placed Liverpool.

It wasn't an easy game for Arsenal as they hosted Claudio Ranieri's men; Watford. It proved to be a cagey affair as both teams tried to unlock each other's defence but Smith-Rowe was the one with the answer as his solitary goal was enough to give Arsenal the 3 points in a game that saw Watford lose a player to a red card in the 89th minute. Kucka was the player who was given his marching orders.

Arsenal thought they got to a flying start when Saka scored. Lacazette was perfectly picked out in the box and he raced to it, turned and tried to lift the ball over the goalkeeper but the goalkeeper got a touch on it as it was knocked into the path of Aubameyang. He got a touch too heavy and Saka pounced on it as he found the back of the net. After the VAR check, Saka was picked out to be offside and the goal was cancelled.

Arsenal got another opportunity to get ahead after Maitland-Niles' wayward shot somehow managed to go into Lacazette's direction inside the box. As he was trying to gain control of the ball, Danny Rose clumsily clattered into him and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty. Aubameyang stepped up but Ben Foster had other ideas as he brilliantly saved the effort.

Maitland-Niles clattered into Sarr before Ben White went on a run. Ben White's run was stopped but Smith-Rowe was there to pounce and hit a one time strike that found the back of the net in the 56th minute. Watford felt aggrieved as they were claiming a foul in the build-up to the play but Arsenal got the goal and it stood.

Martin Odegaard could have added a second for Arsenal if not for Aubameyang as he managed to dribble his way into the box and then guided the ball with ease past the goalkeeper. The ball was destined to go into the back of the net but somehow, Aubameyang got a touch on the ball and the goal had to be cancelled must to the annoyance of Odegaard who thought he had gotten a goal.

Had Aubameyang not gotten the last touch to the ball that was already heading into the net, the goal would have stood but you can understand the desperation of Aubameyang as well who wanted to make sure there was no last-minute clearance.

Smith-Rowe's strike proved to be the only difference between the two sides.
