He changed his mind and then gave a penalty. Riyad Mahrez stepped up and sent Ramsdale the wrong way in the 57th minute to level matters.

A minute after, Laporte almost gifted Arsenal the second goal after his headed clearance towards his goalkeeper was mistimed and the ball was rolling into the box for an own goal before Nathan Ake managed to save the ball with a sweeping clearance, much to the relief of Laporte.

Gabriel got his marching orders in the 59th minute after he stopped Gabriel Jesus' brilliant turn and the referee was forced to give him his second yellow card of the game. Arsenal did everything to get ahead but much isn't expected of a team with 10 men and even at that, they played brilliantly.

They got their heart broken in the 3rd minute of extra time after the ball rolled off to Rodri inside the box and he managed to pounce on it with the defenders unable to deal with it quickly. The ball rolled into the back of the net to give Manchester City the lead so late into the game with little time left for Arsenal to do anything about it.
