11 Premier League Wins In A Row.

Despite a spirited performance from Arsenal, they were unable to stop this Manchester City side who, despite not playing their best games always managed to get the win. It's the mentality to keep digging that sets them apart.

Arsenal would feel robbed and unfairly punished after Martin Odegaard's penalty was turned down while the referee was sent to the side monitor for Bernado Silva's own. With Gabriel getting his second yellow card to reduce Arsenal to 10 men and Martinelli missing a seater, you can say it wasn't one of those days that things would go right for Arsenal.

Saka gave them the lead at home with a lovely effort before Mahrez's penalty before jetting off to the African Cup of Nations restored parity and it took an extra time effort from Rodri to condemn Arsenal to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City even though Arsenal fans and players were fuming as to how the referee was partial and ruined the game because they didn't get the reward for their amazing performance.

Gabriel Jesus should have put City ahead so early on after he was found inside the box but his header went just wide by a small margin. On the other hand, Martin Odegaard tried to round off the goalkeeper and he was caught on his feet but the referee waved play on. It was argued that he already knocked the ball away from the vantage position which was why the referee didn't pick it nor did the VAR call the referee to have a review.

Ruben almost connected with a lovely delivery from Sterling but he couldn't quite get what he expected on the ball but Arsenal sensed danger and responded beautifully after Tierney's pass into the box for Lacazette was quickly pounced on by Saka in the 31st minute. His one-time low drive strike found the back of the net with Ederson clearly and cleverly beaten to give Arsenal the lead.

Martinelli had two brilliant chances to extend Arsenal's lead but he missed both by just a whisker despite being rightly positioned. The first one was a curling effort just outside the box and the second missed the base of the post despite beating his markers for pace and trickery.

The game turned on the head in the 53rd minute after Bernado Silva was dragged by Xhaka. The referee initially waved play on before VAR intervened and asked the referee to check his side monitor. He changed his mind and then gave a penalty. Riyad Mahrez stepped up and sent Ramsdale the wrong way in the 57th minute to level matters.

A minute after, Laporte almost gifted Arsenal the second goal after his headed clearance towards his goalkeeper was mistimed and the ball was rolling into the box for an own goal before Nathan Ake managed to save the ball with a sweeping clearance, much to the relief of Laporte.

Gabriel got his marching orders in the 59th minute after he stopped Gabriel Jesus' brilliant turn and the referee was forced to give him his second yellow card of the game. Arsenal did everything to get ahead but much isn't expected of a team with 10 men and even at that, they played brilliantly.

They got their heart broken in the 3rd minute of extra time after the ball rolled off to Rodri inside the box and he managed to pounce on it with the defenders unable to deal with it quickly. The ball rolled into the back of the net to give Manchester City the lead so late into the game with little time left for Arsenal to do anything about it.

Thank you for your time.

I've got to say I was impressed with Arsenal and they showed a lot of heart. Absolutely unlucky and have every right to feel hard done by

They were hard done by, no doubt. I was expecting City to run them over but they showed grit, character and fight. Impressive.

I wanted Arsenal to win for some reason, they tried a lot.

Arsenal played so well but were robbed. I would rather have Arsenal win than City.

Thanks for this. The outcome of the match was so annoying. Arsenal were robbed. The referee booked both Saka and Gabriel for complaining that they were being fouled. Can you imagine?
Best League, best players, best coaches, worst officials and terrible VAR

I totally agree. That referee was not good. He was demoted before and they shouldn't have reinstated him. VAR people are terrible. Highly inconsistent.

Controversial decisions like that of Harry Kane and Robertson characterise the Premier League and it's quite shameful that they act like this. I was a strong proponent for VAR in every League except the EPL, because I knew that EPL officials will only use it to buttress their shambolic performance

They are using it so well for their personal agenda. It's sad.

VAR should be of help but no... It's the inconsistency for me. Different rules for different opponents.

Preferential treatment goes to Manchester City.

Obviously, they want them to win this season.

Very annoying. You need to hear what some ex referees are saying...how they were told to look away on some issues.

That's so true. Referees say there are certain profile of players that they give benefit of the doubt and others than they expect the worst from. Once a player like Xhaka or Fred or bissouma makes a challenge, red card comes out but if it's their darling Harry Kane or KDB or Sterling, no card at all. It's sickening
