A beautiful mild winter day here today. Temperature hovering around zero. The pond is finally frozen over and now I’m hoping it stays cold enough to play some pond hockey… or at least do a little ice fishing.

Lola was much happier to be back out in the sun and snow…

How thick do you like the ice to be before you trust it for ice fishing? My youngest son, goes ice fishing over in Eastern Washington, and we always worry about the ice thickness!😮

I prefer 8 ” …. To be safe.

The problem with ice is that it could be 8” where you are fishing but 2” where you drive your truck onto the lake. And even less if you are fishing on a river.

Very spooky!😳
My son and his wife are really into ice fishing! They bought some sort of safety/emergency rescue device they wear around their neck. I got the impression it supposed to grab the ice and help you get out somehow……..
Still hypothermia is a serious problem!😲

10 grand again man! I have to hit the trails and start posting with @actifit again.

I have a sneaking suspicion we will have a good long end to winter up here where it feels like it has hardly started into Feb!

There is now a path for your dog to with into, that is new (in the pasts weeks it was making it own path into the snow :-D))
