Greetings to you all dear actifitters and on the fitness health sportstalk community.

Follow along as I take you on the journey I make to Oku Obom Ibiono in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. The journey start on Friday 6th of September 2024 in the evening. The essence of leaving this early is to assist the family in the preparation of things prior to the next day, things like preparing the local Fufu made from cassava as well as rapping it, slicing of Afang, cleaning the compound, setting up of the canopies and arranging the chairs picking the water leaves and so on.

Thereafter we had a cool bath in the flowing stream. This early morning bath prove to be very invigorating. Such a nice experience I wish to have again in the water.

The women were busy cooking rice, afang soup, pourage banana, while some selected brothers were also busy digging the grave.

Before the guests began to arrive we went to the stream again to freshen up.

After the funeral discuss was over and the rain stopped, the remains of the sister in the casket was brought home in the ambulance.

Then the casket was taken to the grave side for final internment. Meanwhile the guest were being entertain with local delicacies.

Evening

Is now time to return back to our base in Uyo, by now my phone battery is low so I couldn't get to take any other picture again. We parked our bags, bid the sister farewell and the journey commences.

I arrived Uyo later than 6.48pm and straight up to the bathroom to wash off the stress and thereafter lay on the cushion to sleep.
