The Oldest Sport In History
To all my fellow wrestling lovers in the room, I salute you. And to those who think wrestling is meant only for some set of people to watch, follow as I take you through one of the most entertaining sports in the world's history.
Today we see thousands of sports and athletic activities around the world. Some of these sports are putting smiles on the faces of their viewers, while others are getting paid to engage in these sports. But do you want to know the oldest sport in history?
As you might have correctly guessed, the local Wrestling competition has remained the oldest sport still in existence today. Legend has it that wrestling started over 5000 years ago. Yes, it wasn't a typical error, over Five thousand years ago simply means wrestling started with the first set of people to walk this Earth.
This was the major form of entertainment in the early days. This sport would usually see two different individuals or teams compete on who could throw the other individual on the ground. This competition requires strength and skills from the wrestlers because the struggle to resist or put someone else on the ground isn't an easy task.
From generation to generation, this wrestling sport has successfully entertained our forefathers, and it's now entertaining us. Today our local festivals are not complete if a wrestling match between two strong men has not taken place.
Just recently, I attended a new yam festival in my village and I was opportune to watch a wrestling competition between the two strongest men in the clan. These men had challenged themselves for too long, and the strongest man in the land was to be decided in a wrestling match. I couldn't stop laughing during the match, as both men struggled hard to put the other on the ground.
The winner of the competition is usually celebrated and crowned the strongest man in the land until a worthy opponent emerges from among the youth to challenge him. It's usually a fun-filled activity to witness, and the long-lasting excitement it gives to us is unmatched.
The wrestling sport has been modified in various ways, and today we see modern wrestling as just pure entertainment. This sport is all about passion, athleticism, and a healthy dose of drama.
I enjoyed watching wrestling alot, so while growing up, I would always do what we called "Wrestling play" with my younger brothers. Sometimes I would tell both of them to try putting my back on the ground. It was fun for us until I accidentally dislocated my younger brother's left arm.
It's a blend of strength, skill, and a touch of madness that makes wrestling sport the legend it is in the sports industry. It all started locally, but you would agree with me that Wrestling has evolved tremendously.
It's not just about the big muscles and the hard bodies anymore (although these are still pretty awesome). It's now more about storytelling, physical prowess, and a sense of community and charisma that excites us the most.
Sometimes two different Kings of entirely different kingdoms would claim to possess the strongest and bravest men in all the lands. These challenges usually get serious and end up causing a wrestling match between the two different kingdoms. The celebration and parade with the representatives of each kingdom is what interested me the most.

And let's not forget about the fans of wrestling, ah, they are the best in all of sports entertainment. In fact, as fans, we're the reason the wrestlers push harder, jump higher, and we encourage them to not give up early.
We’re the heart of every match, turning arenas into electric seas of excitement with our fervent cheers and passionate boos, lol. We do not necessarily need muscles, lol, we come in all shapes and sizes. We don't just watch, we participate in every match, especially in the ones that feature our favorite stars.
When I am to go watch a wrestling match, I am already excited even before getting there, just remembering how the fans usually behave. Fans create a buzzing, vibrant atmosphere for the wrestlers to properly entertain us.
