I've spent a couple of days walking around this city and reliving memories of the first time I visited it. I am very happy to be back, very well accompanied, remembering so clearly the things that I liked and that I think interesting to show to my travel companion.

As soon as one arrives at Fiumicino airport, one begins to immerse oneself in art. Exhibitions of sculptures, architectural remains and paintings, accompany you on your way out of the airport. I really liked a couple of paintings that showed opposite colors of the same painting, it was about trees seen from below, I thought it was beautiful.

There are many things to see and talk about, so I hope to have the time to capture these sensations more calmly, because between the tight walking itinerary I have and the incredible food I find on the way, I find it quite difficult to catch up with the stories and comments. As for you who read me, I hope you can understand my exhaustion at the amount of steps we are doing on average daily.

He estado un par de días caminando por esta ciudad y reviviendo recuerdos de la primera vez que la visité. Me alegra mucho volver, muy bien acompañada, recordando tan claramente las cosas que me gustaron y que creo interesante mostrarle a mi compañero de viaje.

Nada más llegar al aeropuerto de Fiumicino es comenzar a sumergirse en arte. Exposiciones de esculturas, restos arquitectónicos y pinturas, te acompañan en tu camino para salir del aeropuerto. Me gustaron mucho un par de cuadros que mostraban colores opuestos de una misma pintura, se trata de unos árboles mirados desde abajo, me pareció precioso.

Hay muchas cosas que mirar y de las que hablar, por lo que espero tener el tiempo para plasmar estas sensaciones con más tranquilidad, pues entre el ajustado itinerario de paseo que tengo y la increíble comida que me encuentro en el camino, me cuesta bastante ponerme al día con las historias y comentarios. Tú que me lees, espero intentes comprender mi agotamiento al ver la cantidad de pasos que estamos haciendo en el día de media.

No pude evitar fotografiar la mortadella en el aeropuerto, esto comenzaba bien.

Rome is a city that hardly disappoints if you are looking for beautiful weather and lights to take pictures. Although the heat can become heavy, at this time of year there is a nice balance of radiant light and some cool shade. This allowed me to enjoy the most iconic scenery in all its splendor and not be overwhelmed by the summer heat, as was the case on my last visit to the city.

Of course, we visited the main tourist attractions, got lost on a few occasions and got confused on a couple of others. However, the result was more positive than just imperfect, it made me proud of the planning I had devised and to learn how easy it can be to adapt to unexpected situations, without having to sacrifice entertainment while strolling. Enjoyment first and foremost.

There are many places I visited and hundreds of photos to share, but I will compile them in the blog as inspiration strikes me, in the tranquility of my home. For now, I will share some pictures of the beauty that surrounds me and that has witnessed this report of activity to which I refer here.

Roma es una ciudad que difícilmente decepciona si buscas un clima y luces bonitas para hacer fotos. Aunque el calor pueda llegar a ser pesado, en esta época hay un equilibrio agradable de radiante luz y algo de sombra fresca. Esto me permitió disfrutar de los más emblemáticos escenarios en todo su esplendor y no agobiarme con el calor del verano, como sucedió en en mi última visita a la ciudad.

Por supuesto, visitamos los principales atractivos turísticos, nos perdimos en algunas ocasiones y nos confundimos en otro par. Sin embargo, el resultado fue más positivo que simplemente imperfecto, esto hizo sentirme orgullosa de la planificación que había ideado y de aprender lo fácil que puede ser adaptarse a situaciones inesperadas, sin tener que sacrificar el entretenimiento mientras paseas. Disfrutar ante todo.

Hay muchos lugares que visité y cientos de fotos por compartir, pero eso ya lo iré recopilando en el blog a medida que me vaya surgiendo la inspiración, en la tranquilidad de mi casa. Por lo pronto, voy a competir algunas fotografías de la belleza que me rodea y que ha sido testigo de este reporte de actividad al que aquí me refiero.

Of course, it wasn't just going to be about pacing and reminiscing. Taking steps is all well and good if you have a reward in mind and I would be lying if I said I only had one in my head.

I like to discover good places to eat when it comes to such big cities and where there are so many tourists, because it is a challenge to avoid the typical traps and find that wonderful Italian food, which makes us dream and incites us to not want to stop trying it.

In this case, we wanted to save time so we made few reservations and decided to discover fast food places, but made in an artisanal, typical and cheap way. As I know that I won't be able to rest easy without doing a complete review of each place, I'll leave here just a picture of the pizzas al taglio that we tried and that would easily take anyone to heaven. They were delicious.

Claro, no solo iba a tratarse de pasear y rememorar. Hacer pasos está muy bien si se tiene alguna recompensa en mente y yo mentiría si digo que sólo tenía una en mi cabeza.

Me gusta descubrir buenos lugares donde comer cuando se trata de ciudades tan grandes y en donde hay tantos turistas, pues es un reto evitar las trampas típicas y dar con esa comida italiana maravillosa, que nos hace soñar e incita no querer parar de probarla.

En este caso, queríamos ahorrar tiempo por lo que hicimos pocas reservas y decidimos descubrir lugares de comida rápida, pero hecha de forma artesanal, típica y barata. Como sé que no me quedaré tranquila sin hacer una reseña bien completa de cada lugar, voy a dejar por aquí solo una imagen de las pizzas al taglio que probamos y que fácilmente llevarían al cielo a cualquiera. Estaban deliciosas.

None visit is complete without enjoying a beautiful sunset, watching it from a hill or in the gardens that have such beautiful viewpoints, is a great experience, but it is also beautiful to walk along the river Tevere and see how the reflections of the water give you dreamy images.

The sunset is reflected in its waters in a stunning way and the changing lights make the pictures look like perfect paintings.

I could not say at what time of the day the city looks more beautiful. Although there are some very dark spaces, there are others that dazzle you with so much prominence.

Walking around piazza San Pietro in the Vatican at night is a great idea. I had not done it before and I was really pleased to walk around it without running into almost anyone, it is an interesting option to enjoy the facade of the basilica and appreciate the immensity of the square.

Ninguna visita está completa sin disfrutar de un bonito atardecer, verlo desde alguna colina o en los jardines que tienen tan bonitos miradores, es una gran experiencia, pero también es hermoso caminar por el río Tevere y ver cómo los reflejos del agua te regalan imágenes de ensueño.

El anochecer se refleja en sus aguas de forma impactante y las luces cambiantes hacen que las fotografías parezcan cuadros perfectos.

No podría decir en que momento del día la ciudad se ve más hermosa. Aunque hayan espacios muy oscuros, hay otros que te deslumbran con tanto protagonismo.

Pasear por piazza San Pietro en el Vaticano de noche es una gran idea. No lo había hecho antes y quedé realmente satisfecha al caminar por sus alrededores sin toparme casi con nadie, es una opción interesante para disfrutar de la fachada de la basílica y apreciar la inmensidad de la plaza.

For me, traveling is a great way to make many steps a day, I walk without hesitation to experience the city more closely, understand its distances and appreciate the details at my own pace and without relying on other means.

34k steps have been more or less what I have always walked being in Rome, some day maybe a little more, but I think it is impossible to take advantage of a trip here walking less. At least, if you like to do this kind of walking tours.

I have many things left to see and continue sharing, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to share "live" how the trip is going and the pace I'm taking. I think I will try not to overdo it on the other destinations, because there are many days left, but I will certainly keep moving so as not to lose the good streak.

Next stop is Berlin. Thank you for all the beautiful and tasty Rome. I will never get tired of coming back.

Para mi viajar es una gran forma de hacer muchos pasos al día, soy de caminar sin reparo para vivir la ciudad de forma más cercana, entender sus distancias y apreciar los detalles a mi ritmo y sin depender de otros medios.

34k pasos han sido más o menos lo que siempre he caminado estando en Roma, algún día quizás un poco más, pero creo imposible aprovechar un viaje por aquí caminando menos. Al menos, si te gusta hacer este tipo de recorridos a pie.

Me quedan muchas cosas por ver y seguir compartiendo, pero no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad para compartir “en directo” cómo va el viaje y el ritmo que llevo. Creo que intentaré no exagerar en los otros destinos, porque quedan muchos días, pero sin duda seguiré moviéndome para no perder la buena racha.

La próxima parada es Berlín. Gracias por todo lo bonito y rico Roma. Nunca me cansaré de volver.
