Fat Thursday or Jueves Lardero - My A.R.C: Feb 24

Hoy se da inicio al carnaval en algunas regiones de España y en la zona de Aragón se hace comiendo mucho embutido de cerdo acompañado de la típica frase:

Today marks the beginning of carnival in some regions of Spain and in the Aragon area it is done by eating a lot of pork sausage accompanied by the typical phrase:

Jueves lardero, longaniza en el puchero!

Se trata de una tradición asociada al ayuno al que tendrían que someterse las personas durante la Semana Santa, así que antes de tener que privarse de los placeres de comer carne, hacían su buen homenaje carnívoro y eso permitía hacerles más llevadero el posterior sacrificio, muy audaz o muy hipócrita lo cierto es que gracias a su popularidad esa costumbre se ha mantenido durante mucho tiempo, y aún hoy siendo que muchas personas no compartan el origen religioso de la celebración, se reúnen entre amigos y familiares a comer longaniza, que es un estilo de salchicha fresca de cerdo, y preparar diversas elaboraciones con este obediente como protagonista.

Aunque no solo llega hasta ahí su extensión, es tan importante la fecha que en las escuelas hacen actividades relacionadas al tema durante las cuales los niños meriendan longaniza y también en algunas empresas organizan algún momento para compartir su longaniza.

Lo otro interesante es la masiva producción de “bollos” que ofrecen las panaderías, una especie de panecillo relleno con la salchicha que varía en forma dependiendo del obrador. Y yo decidí probar al menos un par de ellos 😃

Although its extension does not only reach there, the date is so important that in the schools there are activities related to the subject during which the children eat longaniza and also in some companies they organize a moment to share their longaniza.

The other interesting thing is the massive production of "buns" offered by the bakeries, a kind of roll filled with sausage that varies in shape depending on the bakery. And I decided to try at least a couple of them 😃.

Es un bollo relleno y bastante grande por lo que resulta ser muy saciante, la masa es bastante plana de sabor pero lo compensa la potencia de la longaniza, está muy bueno sin embargo podría llevar un poco más de sal.

Este es visualmente muy simple, la longaniza está sobre la masa sin más pero tiene un brillo que lo hace llamar la atención, me ha sorprendido mucho porque no esperaba tanto sabor en cada elemento, la masa es un estilo brioche muy suave y con un toque dulce que hace un contraste excelente con la longaniza, que además de su sabor característico parece estar acompañadas de algunas hierbas, es muy potente y satisfactorio, este definitivamente me ha encantado.

It is a stuffed bun and quite big so it turns out to be very filling, the dough is quite flat in flavor but it is compensated by the power of the sausage, it is very good but could use a little more salt.

This one is visually very simple, the sausage is on the dough but it has a shine that makes it stand out, I was very surprised because I did not expect so much flavor in each element, the dough is a very soft brioche style with a sweet touch that makes an excellent contrast with the sausage, which in addition to its characteristic flavor seems to be accompanied by some herbs, it is very powerful and satisfying, I definitely loved this one.

Aunque he quedado encantada con ambos panecillos no puedo negar que me quedo con ganas de más, pues la cantidad de anuncios que hay de ellos en cada panadería de la calle, e incluso en algunas carnicerías u otro tipo de tiendas, es interminable, así que me apunto para el próximo año salir en su búsqueda con más tiempo y poder degustar más opciones, al menos ha sido un placentero paseo buscando estos bollos y hacer el mínimo de pasos para cumplir con mi meta @actifit ha sido tan grata que ni me he dado cuenta 🏃🏻‍♀️ Poco a poco vamos sumando 💪🏼

Although I have been delighted with both buns I can not deny that I am left wanting more, because the amount of ads for them in every bakery on the street, and even in some butchers or other stores, is endless, so I aim for next year to go out in search of them with more time and be able to taste more options, at least it has been a pleasant walk looking for these buns and doing the minimum of steps to meet my goal @actifit has been so pleasant that I have not even noticed 🏃🏻‍♀️ Little by little we are adding 💪🏼

Jajaja es buena idea @xpax120 lo que pasea es que a mi lo de cocinar no se me da muy bien, y tampoco me motiva 😅 soy un mal ejemplo lo sé pero prefiero dejar la cocina a los que la disfruten y yo colaboro con la degustación 😬 pero no rechazo tu idea, a ver a quien convenzo y me lo hace jaja lo difícil va a estar en conseguir chorizo carupanero aquí!

Jaja pues no, no sospeches!!
La verdad es que aquí la gente no se anda con dobles sentido y mucho menos semejanzas con las comidas, es curioso, te das cuenta lo mucho que se sexualiza todo en Latinoamérica cuando estas fuera y nadie se escandaliza cuando te comes un cambur, así estamos.
