My Actifit Report Card: July 1 2024
We parked up in Goring and took a walk along the River Thames in the direction of, well, London. That would be a long long walk if we were to do that. We kept going for a mile or two and then took a footpath away from the water back into Goring ultimately.
On the way I spotted this fantastic door leading into the old Mill.
Was amused by the trashed Liberal Democrat sign. I’m guessing a local Tory was responsible for this. The cretins.
Stopped off for a pint at this lovely pub in Goring-on-Thames yesterday. It’s called the Miller of Mansfield and is also a hotel.
The pub is named after the medieval ballad, The King and the Miller of Mansfield, which tells the story of a miller who gives a bed for the night to a stranger travelling to Nottingham. Over dinner, the miller tells the stranger they’re eating one of King Henry II’s deer, poached from Sherwood Forest. The following day, the miller discovers the stranger is the king himself. Rather than being punished for theft, though, the miller is knighted for his hospitality. The tale concludes with the miller journeying from Mansfield to Westminster to receive his knighthood.
What a story! Wow!!
Admired a lovely boat from the bridge and that was that!
England pulled off an astonishing win as we caught the tail end of the game at the pub we popped into.

I've not seen many political signs or posters out. People don't seem that excited about it.
I saw the England game. They really left it until the last minute. The other match was much more entertaining.

Haha at "I shouldn't make commercial" :D Maybe something to worry about when you have more youtube subscribers! Quite interesting content though, these things should get more subs on there and here.
