I don't stay up for too many fights anymore but I'll stay up for this one.

Female boxing is on the rise.

Now I don't know much about Serrano but I have seen lots of Katie's fights. She is not the most exciting fighter to watch but she is very good.

Technical and relenteless she just keeps grinding down the opponents until there is only one clear winner. She has had a few close calls in th epast few fights but the truth is that she didn't look that interested. It almost seems as if she only gets excited by the big occasions now which can be a dangerous place ofr a champion.

True genius turns up and does it on every occasion. Not just the big ones.

It seems as if she needs to keep climbing mountains as Katie has been atrend setter for her whole career. Firstly in Ireland and then in world sport.

Female sport is improving in general.

This is just one example out of many right now where female sports are making headlines. There is a general rise in popularity across the board and across all sports.

In terms of coverage, profile, sponsership and quality.

It is a positive movement towards an equal playing field. I don't think that we will ever see true equality as the two genders cannot play at an equal level but we can appreciate the female versions in their own right. For theirown skill and get behind the personalities that exist in their games.

I love to watch some of the female sports as they take a different approach to the same games.
