Sweating Past - My Actifit Report Card: March 4 2025
Today I attacked the gym early as I had my planned long run for training. I could not go outside for the run as I had to be back in time for a meeting so headed to the gym early for a workout on the treadmill. I wasn’t too encouraged as I always have a challenge running long on treadmills given the pacing. However, I started slow and only increased it slowly very five minutes. As I got to the half hour mark without getting into Zone 2 consistently, I decided to pick up the pace. I wasn’t too encouraged feeling strong as I past 5K so kept pushing it.
As I was approaching the hour mark and feeling well in Zone 2, I saw the potential to get to 10K in the alloted time so I went for it. It was the first time in years of getting the distance in and only my second time ever. I still felt pretty good after the workout so things are certainly progressing. No negative impacts except some strains from sitting too much along the work day but rest will be key tonight. I love seeing my body and mind pushing past prior boundaries as it encourages me to see the progress and potential for the future.
