Hello Zone 5! - My Actifit Report Card: February 27 2025
My body and mind continue to feel better so it was a good day to try something new. I was due for some speed intervals but my schedule was going to make it tough to get to the gym at a good time today. I thought I would give it a try to do intervals outdoor today and I did not anticipate the challenges I found. Not having the guardrails on pace from the treadmill was interesting as I would start all out just to see my pace decrease over time. It continued the same way at every interval and by the time I was on the last couple of speed sprints, I was in Zone 5 which surprised me.
I probably took some more rest between intervals given that I still wanted to be conscious of just getting over being sick. The last interval or two were likely at a much lower pace than I would have gotten on the treadmill but I have not been in Zone 5 since starting to track it. I think the workout ended being a building session which was the objective so good overall. The weekend is in sight and I need to get some extra rest to gauge the next step of this journey.
