The Secret of Real Madrid Football Club's Game Plan
I've come to find out the biggest secret of Real Madrid Football Club's game plan. I've mainly been watching premier league clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, etc and the only time I watch Real Madrid play is in the Champions League and that's where I have seen them execute this game plan.
As much as I would have liked to claim that I found this out on my own, the truth is that it was a guy sitting next to me at a bar that noticed it and told me about it, I watched carefully and saw that it was the stinging truth. I was watching the first leg of the Quarter Finals match Chelsea vs Real Madrid at a bar during my last stay in Abuja.
The guy sitting next to me was a talkative who didn't seem like much at all, but all of a sudden he told me he has seen the trick Real Madrid is using that they keep the ball in their own half, make back passes and when the opponents commit men forward to get the ball Madrid makes a quick long pass or series of quick short passes to their forwards who go for the goal immediately.
Once he said this I realized what I've been seeing up till that point really seemed to add up to what he was saying, so I decided to watch more carefully and did I see Real Madrid do it again? A thousand more times, yes! They did it all through the match and in the second leg they repeated it and just on Tuesday in their match against Manchester City that was all they were doing.
It's a simple game plan, Madrid gets the ball and keep passing it around in their own half, usually in and around their 18 yard box. Their opponents try to get the ball from them and most of the action becomes concentrated on the Madrid's half, more of their opponents' men come forward for the ball and then Madrid immediately sends the ball forward to their front men like Benzema, Vini jr, Rodrygo and they go for goal with all the hurry in the world.
This strategy fails sometimes. Sometimes while passing the ball in the own half they might lose it and the opponents would get it and create a danger against Real Madrid. Sometimes while hurriedly going for goal they'll mess up their passing and the opponents would get it, but this is still a very dangerous pattern of play against opponents. It has worked like magic for Real Madrid.
While watching the semi-final match against Man City in another city (Abakaliki) I kept hearing fans decrying Madrid's performance. They complained that they do too many back passes, complained that they didn't hold the ball enough in the midfield, complained they were playing rubbish and not looking good.
I smiled. These guys don't see what I see and what that talkative at Abuja saw. It was a masterful game plan, keep the ball in your own half, probably look like you're in trouble in your own half, your opponents would come forward to pressure you, then you send the ball in front immediately for a speedy counter attack.
As badly as Madrid were thought to be playing they still got three goals against Man City and they looked like they were in the game, like they stood a chance, like they could have won it too like their opponents that were playing "well". I wonder if Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola knows that this is the pattern used by Real Madrid, I wonder if I should have tried to sell this information to him or someone.
But anyways, those of you who would read this and probably watch the next leg coming up next week, look out for this pattern and enjoy yourselves with the knowledge that you know what Madrid is trying to do with every move.

They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?

Wow this is very good observation though , in as much as i DNT always have time to watch football match I will try and make time to watch real Madrid next match because of this their strategy to play
