How valuable can some baseball cards be?
Is it because there were produced in very low quantities? The year they were released? an story behind the item itself?

Rare is cool
It's amazing how some of these items become so valuable. For example, in the previous image, we see the legendary 1909 T206 Honus Wagner, a card that wasn't an actual baseball card (they almost didn't exist back in 1909) it was a promotional item that the American Tobacco Company inserted into cigarette packs. One T206 Wagner was sold at $3.12 million Usd in 2016.
Other very rare cards also sell for high prices like the T206 Joe Doyle that had a printing error and instead of saying "American" on the bottom it said "Nat'l".
Scarcity and the card condition are important for example the 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan. Only one is graded PSA 10 out of 8,200 copies, and that one was sold at $612,359 Usd in 2016, crazy huh?

What would you do if you had a baseball card valued at $100.000 Usd?
If you want to know more about these cards I recommend this site
