CAN ANCELOTTI BAG ONE MORE?
It's no news to sport fans on the Merengues 4 - 0 victory over Espanyol, making them the current champions of the Spanish league leading Sevilla by 17 points with only 4 matches remaining. It is a big win for them and their fans, I mean, it's not easy to win La Liga 35 times.
Considered to be one of the best coaches in history, Carlos Ancelotti, took over the club from Zidane in July 2021 and has done so well with the club since then. It's been wins and wins for the Merengues but no one would forget their 4 - 0 defeat at the hands of their rivals Barcelona. Still didn't change the outcome of the league.
With their win on Saturday at Santiago Bernabeu, Ancelotti became the first coach to win the league title in all of football's top league.
He won the Serie A with Ac Milan in 2004, the English Premier League with Chelsea in 2010, the French league with Paris Saint Germain in 2013 and the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich in 2017.
This begs the question, can Ancelotti bag on more trophy this season?
Real Madrid are currently in the champions league semi finals against Manchester city. Current aggregate is at 4 - 3 with man city in front. I honestly want madrid to pull a comeback in the 2nd leg. Can Karim Benzema do again, can he lead the Merengues to another qualifying win against man city just as he did with Chelsea? If Madrid can pull this off, it would be their 14th champions league title win.
There's a lot of work to be done. Even if Madrid is able to pull of a win against man city in the second leg, there's a big chance they might meet Liverpool in the finals. I'd say Madrid got their work cut out for them.
We should not be quick to forget the last time Madrid and Liverpool met in the finals, Madrid came out on top but alot has happened since 2018, there's been replacement of players and there's been advancement of teams.
Can Ancelotti bag the champions league title this season?
Can Madrid pull of a comeback at their 2nd leg with Manchester city?
We'll find out on Wednesday.
In the game of football, you can never say never, and with the pedigree of a team like Real Madrid there's a very big possibility that they will turn it around.
Let's not forget that it's only a goal deficit against an in form Madrid team, still basking in the euphoria of winning the league and their spirit is high.
All the same, Wednesday will tell.
Everybody's excited for Wednesday. I personally want madrid to win. I "hate" them less than I "hate" man city..lol..
Real Madrid could actually win the UCL but I hope and wish it comes to England this time around.
