History in the Making: #PlayDay!
-UNKNOWN-
Greetings to all of you HIVE friends. Today I will be sharing with you our first ever PLAY DAY in school.
Since I was hired as a school Teacher last 2005 in this same school, we never had a School Play Day. Usually, we will just pick and train some pupils for different sports events in preparation for the District Meet, but Not until today.
This year 2023 marks our First School Play Day. This is very challenging to us because we need to make it happen without enough budget. At the same time, we are excited to witness the pupils' participations and reactions.🤗
THE PREPARATION
First, we had a faculty meeting, where we agreed on the date and time of our Play Day. Then we assigned the faculty members to the different events as umpires, liners, and scorers.
Next, I printed the programs for the opening and ribbons for the awarding. When everything was done, we set up the badminton court outdoors since we do not have a covered court inside the school campus.
Then we prepared pole for the hoisting of banners. I was so grateful with the helpful grade six pupils who did not lost sight of me until everything was set and done.
Finally, we're all set. Let's go!
THE PLAY DAY!
It was started with a parade. The children participated eagerly and happily with their first parade experience. the assemble area was in front of the school stage and the sequence was according to grade level. Kindergarten was the first in line.
We went out at the entrance gate, following the School's perimeter fence and get inside again at the exit gate. In other words the parade was short but children enjoyed it so much.
After everyone was at their designated area hoisting of banner by respective grade level was performed. Excitement and competitiveness was evident from each representative.
Then the program proper started which was hosted by Mrs. Leizyl A. Adolfo a grade six adviser. And it started with the singing of the national anthem followed by a prayer. A welcome address was uttered by our very own school head @lovinglymers and signals the start of the activity.
Presentation of participants and Oath of Amateurism followed by yours truly as the School PESS Coordinator.
The search for Little Miss and Mr. Play Day was the Highlight of the morning activity. This search developed pupils self confidence, boosted their self esteem and most of all developed friendship amongst fellow contestant.
In the afternoon, games were done simultaneously. Pupils enjoyed participating with the different games prepared by the teachers.
Children who did not list their names for any sport, actively participated with the Laro ng Lahi(Sack Race, Longest Line, Planting Rice, Frog hop and more).
This first ever Play Day in our School brings so much joy not only to the pupils but to the parents as well. Their the happiest when their children belongs to the winning team and brings warmth and comfort when in losing team.
Though prizes prepared were not much, winners shows so much gratitude, knowing that their hard work, skills and talent were paid off.
Indeed this event developed SPORTSMANSHIP not just to the children but to parents also.
The faculty were pleased to the parents who actively participated with this event from preparation, execution until the end of the activity. They are the true treasure of the school as our primary stakeholder.
Thank you everyone for sharing your precious time reading my blog. Till next time.😊 SALAMAT!

You are always welcome Mam @nanayko❤️You deserved to be recognized❤️
Thankfully COVID is almost over and we can all be back to normal like we all used to, missed this and when it used to be called Intramurals indeed a good way to keep the learners engaged. Better than spending time on gadgets and whatever technologies. Good thing Caduawan ES participated in this event☺︎♡
Thank you for coming by. Still it’s called intramural for higher grades. In elementary it is Play day.
As a kid, this was one of my favorite moments. Back then, it wasn't just an extracurricular activity, it's a way of doing collaboration, being competitive in a good way, building confidence, and most importantly, having fun. This has reminded me of so many wonderful memories from my childhood. Thanks for sharing, @nanayko! 🥰
