Going in an hour later messed up your schedule. I would not mind going to work later but I would mind having to be there that late at night.

It is sad your son was already sleeping and missed saying goodnight to you. When my children were young they missed many nights when I had to work but you got to do it to make the bills and keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.
