Wow you have to renew your license at a police station, here there is an office just for that. It is good to hear that you have more help at your clinic. I wish my doctor had the same and maybe he would not be closing his office.

I received a 2 page letter from my skin cancer doctor. He is one of the rare doctors that I talk about. He wrote to all his patients explaining why he was closing his business in my town, he has another office in another town and I am welcome to come if I want to make the drive.

For many years he has had a rare genetic disease of the muscle of his heart, he has been on experimental drugs but the medicine had side effects, and his aorta is now enlarged.

He has decided that spending more with his family is more important.

He has a 13 year old daughter he says he wants to spend more time with before she becomes more of a teenager and no longer wants to spend time with Dad.

He has an Autistic son and he thinks spending more time with him will improve his social situation.

The letter talks about more but those are the things that touched me. Doctors don't usually write letters like this, most only tell you they are closing and advise you to find another doctor.

I thought you might find this interesting.

He is !INDEED a rare doctor! And, yes, I find it interesting. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Did she send letters to all or most of the patients he treated over the years or only to you?

He sent letters to all his patients to inform us of him closing his practice in my town but he also gave reasons why he was doing it. I have never had a doctor who cared enough to explain why he was closing or even leaving, usually, they tell you that you need to find another doctor because the Dr you had left and you never know why. This happened with my neurologist.
