Summary of Qatar 2022: Round of 16 [ESP-ENG] DAY 1
Hay una iniciativa increible de parte @hivebuzz para el mundial de Qatar 2022 a la que quise sumarme activamente a participar. Aqui tejo los detalles del concurso por si quieres unirte y ademas, voy a realizar estos resumenes diariamente con cada fecha del mundial para así apoyar al crecimiento del concurso.
There is an incredible initiative from @hivebuzz for the Qatar 2022 World Cup that I wanted to join actively to participate. Here are the details of the contest in case you want to join and also, I will make these summaries daily with each date of the world cup to support the growth of the pool contest.
Despues de una fase de grupos historica siendo la primera vez que ningun equipo logra hacer puntaje perfecto, el dia de hoy empezaron los octavos de final, 16 selecciones competiran por los siguientes 8 puestos y 2 de esos lugares ya tienen nombre.
Cuatro equipos se enfrentaron el dia de hoy, Paises Bajos contra Estados Unidos y Argentina contra Australia. Si no pudiste ver los partidos entonces haz venido al lugar correcto, porque aqui yo los voy a resumir.
After we were spectators of a historic group stage of the World Cup being the first time that no team has ever achieved a perfect score, today the round of 16 teams will compete for the next 8 places and 2 of those places already have names.
Today four teams faced each other today, Netherlands vs USA and Argentina vs Australia. If you missed the games then you've come to the right place, because here I'm going to summarize them.
Netherlands vs United States

Resumen del partido.
El primer duelo de esta fase terminó con una contundente victoria del equipo europeo, que apenas a los diez minutos de partido ya habia puesto el 1-0, antes de terminar el primer tiempo Blind marcó el 2-0 y se empezaba a sentenciar el partido de Estados Unidos que estaba mostrando muy poco. El segundo tiempo le dio un poco mas de aire a los norteamericanos que se atrevieron mas y en el minuto 76 parecian entrar de nuevo en competencia pero Paises Bajos no cambio su esquema y siguio haciendo su jugo y apenas 5 minutos despues Dumfries sentencio el encuentro tras una asistencia magistral de Blind.
Mi opinión.
Paises Bajos crecio muchisimo partido a partido en esta copa del mundo y juzgando como han jugado el dia de hoy, han demostrado con creces por que estan en esta fase y por que son candidatos al titulo, Dumfries, Blind y Frenkie De Jong jugaron un partido descomunal, sobre todo el primero que hizo dos asistencias y marcó un gol. Sin duda un pase a cuartos mas que merecido para este equipo europeo y un buen sabor de boca para la derrota de Estados Unidos que no cayó por falta de merito, intentaron todo el partido pero simplemente fueron dominados.
Summary of the match.
The first duel of this round of sixteen phase ended with a resounding victory for the European team, which barely ten minutes into the game had already put the 1-0, before the end of the first half Blind scored the 2-0 and began to sentence the match of the United States that was showing very little. The second half gave a little more air to the Americans who were more daring and in the 76th minute they seemed to get back into the competition but the Netherlands did not change their scheme and continued to play their game and just 5 minutes later Dumfries sentenced the match after a masterful assist from Blind.
My opinion.
The Netherlands grew a lot in their performance game by game in this World Cup and judging how they played today, they have more than demonstrated why they are at this stage and why they are candidates for the title, Dumfries, Blind and Frenkie De Jong played a great game, especially the first one who made two assists and scored a goal. Undoubtedly a pass to the quarterfinals more than deserved for this European team and a good taste in the mouth for the defeat of the United States that did not fall for lack of merit, they tried all game but were simply dominated.

Resumen del partido.
En su partido numero 1000 como profesional, Messi hizo un recital de futbol y fue la guia de su seleccion para sacar adelante este complicado partido ante Australia. El juego empezo muy trabado con una Australia que se replegaba muy bien y que jugaba muy aspero, con doble marca sobre Messi y ademas con un campo de juego en un estado bastante irregular. Sin embargo el gol llegó tras un tiro libre de Messi que termino rebotando en el propio jugador, que pasó la pelota y acompaño la jugada para encontrarse de frente al arco un balon servido por Otamendi, que el rosarino no desaprovechó y la puso donde Ryan no pudiera llegar. Argentina siguio intentando sin exito hasta que en el minuto 57 tras una presion alta de Rodrigo De Paul, el arquero australiano se equivoco en la salida y termino regalandole el balon a Alvarez que puso el 2-0, resultado que maquilló luego Goodwin que armó una gran jugada y termino soltando un disparo que se desvio en Enzo Fernandez y terminó en el arco argentino. Los ultimos 10 minutos Australia presiono muy fuerte arriba y Emiliano Martinez hizo una parada providencial en el ultimo minuto de juego en un 1 a 1 contra Garang Kuol para asi enviar a su seleccion directo a los cuartos de final.
Mi opinion.
Australia fue una gran sorpresa para mi en esta copa, no solo por este partido si no por esa muy buena fase de grupos en la que supieron crecer como equipo, si es cierto que las condiciones del campo no favorecian el juego de Argentina pero tiene mucho merito el trabajo de los australianos, que durante 35 minutos dominaron a los sudamericanos hasta que Messi cambió la historia.
No me gusto el planteamiento inicial de Argentina, creo que Papu Gomez no es un jugador que este a nivel de selección, no fue si no hasta que el entrenador lo cambio de posición que empezó a tener algo de importancia, Argentina por momentos fue ese equipo increible que llegaba como candidato mayor a ganar la copa del mundo, y por otros fue ese equipo sin ideas que cayó ante Arabia Saudita. En los ultimos 20 minutos Argentina desperdicio al menos 3 jugadas claras de gol, deben trabajar ahi para mejorar eso.
Match summary.
In his 1000th professional match, Lionel Andres Messi gave a beautifull soccer recital and was the guide of his national team to win this difficult match against the Australian team. The game started with a very difficult start with a very tight Australia that was playing very rough and with many faults, with double marking on Messi and Enzo Fernandez and also with a pitch in a very uneven state. However, the goal came after a Messi's free kick that ended up bouncing on the player himself, who passed the ball and accompanied the play to find himself in front of the goal a ball served by Otamendi, which the Argentine did not miss and put it where Ryan could not reach. Argentina kept trying without success until in the 57th minute after a high pressure by Rodrigo De Paul, the Australian goalkeeper made a mistake and ended up giving the ball to Alvarez who put the 2-0, a result that Goodwin made a great play and ended up releasing a shot that deflected off Enzo Fernandez and ended up in the Argentine goal. My opinion.
Australia was a big surprise for me in this world cup of Qatar 2022, not only for this performance in the match but also for that very good group stage in which they knew how to grow as a team, it is true that the field conditions did not favor Argentina's game but it has a lot of merit the work of the Australians, who for 35 minutes dominated the South Americans until Messi changed the story.
I did not like the initial approach of Argentina on this game, I think Alejandro Gomez is not a player that is at the level to be a starter of this team, it was not until the coach changed his position that he began to have some importance on the game, Argentina at times was that incredible team that came as a major candidate to win the world cup, and at other times was that team without ideas that fell against Saudi Arabia. In the last 20 minutes Argentina wasted at least 3 clear goal scoring chances, they should work on improving that.
Lo que viene.
Mañana vamos a ver como otro cruce de cuartos de final se decide cuando jueguen Francia y Polonia y luego Senegal e Inglaterra. Todos partidos muy igualados con selecciones que mostraron que tienen con que competir y que nos dieron muchas alegrias en la fase de grupos. La copa esta que arde y los partidos son cada vez mas emocionantes, no puedo esperar para ver estos juegos.

Tomorrow we will see how another quarter-final cross will be decided on this round of 16 when France and Poland and then Senegal and England play. All very evenly matched games with teams that showed they have what it takes to compete and that gave us a lot of joy in the group stage.
