Ser fanático de la “Vinotinto” en cualquier categoría significa sufrir y esperar siempre lo peor incluso cuando el panorama parece estar dado para que las cosas salgan bien. Estoy totalmente convencido de que no somos de esos países tocados con la varita del fútbol, pero eso no necesariamente implica que ocasionalmente obtengamos cosas positivas, el asunto aquí es que nos cuestan un mundo. En el pasado hemos clasificado a mundiales de fútbol, pero en categoría inferiores, siendo el objetivo máximo que la selección mayor lo consiga en algún momento, y bueno, se supone que 2026 sería esa primera vez, pero aún falta para eso.
Lo cierto es que actualmente está en curso el Sudamericano Sub-17 el cual otorgará algunas plazas para el mundial del fútbol de la mencionada categoría que se jugará en Catar y la gran noticia aquí es la selección venezolana ya obtuvo la clasificación quedando segunda de grupo detrás de Brasil, pero estuvimos a 5 minutos de quedar fuera y únicamente con sufrimiento y con la ayuda de otro resultado pudimos alcanzar la meta. Esos 5 minutos que mencioné es de los más locos que he visto en algún torneo internacional y más interesante lo hizo el hecho de que la selección venezolana estaba involucrada.

Those 5 minutes I mentioned is one of the craziest I have ever seen in any international tournament and more interesting was the fact that the Venezuelan national team was involved.
Para quienes no lo sepan, la última jornada de la fase de grupos definiría quienes clasificarían de manera directa al mundial y quienes debían esperar, siendo que los dos primeros serían los afortunados en obtener los boletos. Brasil, Venezuela y Ecuador debían darlo todo en sus respectivos partidos para no quedar rezagados, Venezuela jugaba con Uruguay que venía como colista e hipotéticamente era inferior en juego a Venezuela, mientras que Brasil y Ecuador se sacarían chispas ya que sí Venezuela ganaba su partido alguno de ellos se quedaría fuera de la clasificación directa.
Es así que todo estaba servido para que Venezuela, dependiendo de sí misma, obtuviera la clasificación sin tantos traumas, pero lamentablemente no estamos acostumbrados a ser protagonistas y no tenemos la cultura futbolística como para afrontar retos definitorios, así que más temprano que tarde íbamos perdiendo el partido y aunque en su momento lo empatamos, los uruguayos se fueron arriba nuevamente con un gol que anímicamente mataría a cualquiera. Al mismo tiempo, Brasil y Ecuador empataban a 2 goles, pero como Venezuela estaba perdiendo ese resultado les servía a los dos para clasificar de manera directa.

Entonces, en los 5 minutos finales de ambos partidos, mismos que se jugaban de manera simultánea, sucedió lo que pocos esperaban, Brasil le hizo el 3er gol a Ecuador y ya con eso le hacía un grandísimo favor a Venezuela ya que la clasificaba de manera directa, sin embargo, los de camiseta vinotinto lograron empatar su partido prácticamente en la última jugada del partido para sellar cualquier duda. Es así que Venezuela se metió en el mundial Sub-17 por segunda vez consecutiva y eso es algo que nos ilusiona para el futuro, es una muestra evidente de que hay talento.
Lo cierto es que ya el objetivo está cumplido, pero el torneo aún no termina, Venezuela jugará una de las semifinales contra Colombia que es local y que buscará dejar el trofeo en casa. Sí les soy sincero, lo que suceda en adelante en el sudamericano para mí solo serán estadísticas, ya se alcanzó la clasificación y eso es lo que debe llenarnos de orgullo, aunque sí seguimos avanzando obviamente se amplificarán las alegrías.

Felicitaciones por la clasificación al mundial Sub-17, es un gran paso para el futuro.
Aquí en mi país solo trasmitieron los partidos en los que jugó nuestra selección y justamente anoche vi el triunfo ante Bolivia por 3 a 0 que nos clasifica al mundial, el Sub-17 es una deuda pendiente de nuestras selecciones juveniles, nunca pudo obtener el título máximo a diferencia del resto de las categorías.
Esperemos que finalmente Venezuela pueda clasificar al mundial de mayores, sería una gran alegría y una ratificación del crecimiento que se observa.

La clasificación directa fue todo un acontecimiento aquí para los amantes del fútbol, son gestas que se consiguen pocas veces y por eso hay que celebrarlo.
Enhorabuena por Argentina, es obvio que debían clasificar, ese nombre debía estar en el sorteo.
