Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal and Sameer Verma were ousted from the Hong Kong Open after suffering contrasting defeats in the opening round of the USD 400,000 event.

Saina lost against China player Cai Yan Yan. Saina lost the match with 13-21, 20-22.
whereas, Sameer loss against Chinese Taipei player Wang Tzu Wei. Sameer lost the match with 11-21, 21-13 and 8-21.
