Top 5 Cricket Stadiums in Bangladesh



1। Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka

Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium is the largest developed and aesthetic cricket stadium in Bangladesh. The stadium was known as East Mirpur Stadium. Later, the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh changed the name of the stadium to Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The stadium was established in 2006. The spectator capacity of this stadium is 26000. Every year most of the games of Bangladesh are organized in this stadium.

The first ODI was held at this stadium on 18 December 2006, the first Test was played on 25-27 May 2007 and the first T20 match was played on 11 October 2011. The highest cricket league of Bangladesh BPL is organized in this stadium. In addition to hosting the opening and final matches, this stadium is the most popular match in the BPL. The stadium is managed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).



2। Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium, Chittagong

Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Sagarika, Chittagong, is the second largest stadium in Bangladesh. The former name of this stadium was Birshreshtha Shaheed Ruhul Amin Stadium. The stadium is one of the ICC-approved Test playing international cricket grounds. The stadium has a capacity of 20000 spectators. The stadium was renovated and games were held on the occasion of the 2004 Under-19 World Cup. The 2011 World Cup group stage match was also hosted. It became an international cricket stadium in January 2006. The 1st Test was played from 28 February to 3 March 2006, the 1st ODI was played on 25 February 2006 and the first T20 match was played on 12 February 2014.



3। Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is a versatile stadium in Sylhet. Surrounded by lush green hills and picturesque tea gardens, the stadium is a short distance from Sylhet International Airport. The stadium was built in 2007. The spectator capacity of this stadium is 22000. The 1st T20 match was played at this stadium on March 17, 2014.



4। Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna

Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium is located in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh. The stadium is also known as Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman. This is the seventh Test cricket venue in Bangladesh. The stadium was inaugurated in 2004. The stadium was approved for international cricket matches in 2006 and the first one-day international cricket match was held at the stadium in the same year. The stadium hosted some of the Under-19 World Cup games. Currently the stadium has a capacity of 20000 spectators.



5। Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Bogra

The stadium is located in Bogra district of Rajshahi division of Bangladesh and was established in 2002. It is located in the Malgram area of ​​Bogra town on the northwestern edge of Bogra district. The spectator capacity of this stadium is 15000. The first one-day international cricket match was held at this stadium on February 20, 2006, the first Test was held on March 8-11 of the same year. At present, the Shaheed Chandu Stadium has been closed for 11 years due to unwanted reasons, but games of different leagues are being organized in Bangladesh.
