My PE Memories

I believe almost everyone did Physical Education(PE) in either elementary or high school even though not everyone love participating in the exercise cause of stress but in one way or the other one will be involve in one or two PE activities.

PE is an interesting subject to me, I did it in both elementary and secondary school and the subject was perfectly handled by energetic teachers in my school. In my elementary school, the highest sporting event that was organized then was inter-class competition and Friday morning exercises that all.

But on getting to high school, I got to know the real meaning of PE and it became more fun to me. PE classes are free periods for us, we always look forward to the class and usually pray that our teacher should take us to the field for the practical aspect of the subject. Though, PE note isn't voluminous compare to other subjects, but we just don't want to stay in the class for any explanation. We prefer to do almost everything on the field not because we all love the subject so dearly but because we want to run around the field till we are exhausted.

Rights from my childhood, I've been a lover of sport even till date I don't joke with some sporting events whether African, European or World Tournaments. So this allows me to love PE while in school couple with the fact that the subject is very easy to pass. So when it's time for PE in school, I do participate in the activities according to our teacher's instructions.

I was in green house then so during inter-house sport preparations, I took part in all track and field events. But I wasn't the best cause lots of people in my house are better than me so I had to opt for the marching section which I knew I can't be defeated in that aspect cause I've been a member of the Boys and Girls Brigade since I was age five, parade had been part and parcel of me. The house parade commander and me worked hand in hand to train our house members which makes me automatically the assistant parade commander.

The other school houses were surprised that for the first time, green house has two parade commanders in which one is a female, I took the parade with seriousness cause we heard from history that green house had never won parade in my school due to no interest of students in marching past, so we were determined to win. The parade squad train tirelessly almost everyday, our house master didn't bother about us again because he knew myself and the other guy was handling the squad with seriousness, so he focused on other events.

Eventually, our hard work pays, my house won the parade competition and everyone was wowed by our unique coordination and perfection. We also won some of the track events but we were bad in field events. On the long run, green house came over all third among six houses and we were all extremely happy because that was the first time the house will achieve that. Ever since then, myself and the guy was chosen as the school parade commanders without asking for it.

Been the commander of the parade then taught me that anything one finds doing one should do it well cause the experience might be needed by someone or somewhere in the future. No knowledge is a wait, when you work hard and impart others you will also gain full recognition.
