Las fechas FIFA a mediados de temporada nunca fueron de los más emocionante, viendo como la mayoría de veces estaban destinados a fases eliminatorias para los torneos grandes, como las copa continentales o el mundial, pero en los últimos años, esto ha venido cambiando con la creación en Europa de la Nations League, un torneo con formato de liguillas, que venía para darle más emoción y cambiar a los amistosos internacionales, que muchas veces, tendían a ser muy aburridos y sin nada en juego más allá del prestigio por mantener el nombre de tu selección en alto, o vencer a otra que fuera más poderosa, tanto en actualidad como historia.

Pero todo esto al final tiene una implicación mayor, pues aunque se genere más dinero y más expectativas en la afición, lo cierto es que es muy contraproducente para los clubes, que no olvidemos, al final son los dueños de su ficha, quienes pagan sus salarios, y en caso de lesión, son quienes se encargarán de la fase de recuperación, perdiendo un activo importante, pues a los conjuntos nacional, siempre van son los mejores.
