Funeral. My Actifit Report Card: September 17 2024

I attended a funeral yesterday. My father’s friend died just 5 days short of his 90th birthday. I had seen the man in June last time. His wits had been sharp, he would tell jokes and even pick on women. His handshake had been crushing strong.

Then some inflammation entered and started a domino effect in his body. He ended in a hospice, tied to bed and rarely conscious. The last few weeks have been in waiting for “the time”.

The funeral wasn’t as sad as I would normally expect. The family have had time to come to terms with his passing away. I’d even say it was a beautiful ceremony - saying farewell to a respected dad, grandpa, neighbour, friend.
