My Actifit Report Card: August 22 2024 - A Fulfilling First Week

The first week of teaching is almost over, and I'm starting to get around pretty well in my new classroom.

Even though I know my time here is limited—I start my new job at the daycare center on September 2nd—I'm still happy with my current role.

Today was particularly special.

One of our pupils recently welcomed a new sister, so we celebrated with a small treat: a bag filled with marshmallows, a party horn, and a traditional Dutch chocolate with 'Muisjes' (candy-coated aniseed).

To give their homecoming a festive feel, we made a lovely paper garland for the baby.

Thanks to the lovely weather we have been able to play a lot outside this week.

Outdoor activities, we make them a priority during the summer.

Just to make sure the kids get enough vitamin D and fresh air to last all year.

When autumn comes, the rain will probably keep us inside.

Unfortunately, when I arrived home from work, I found a leaky faucet.

I made the decision to address the situation head-on since I knew that putting it off could cause greater issues.

I bought a new faucet, followed the directions, and was able to install it myself.

I've discovered over the years, sadly born out of necessity, that I can manage a variety of activities, even if they call for some manual labor or research.

This DIY project has saved me time and money, as hiring a plumber would have been costly project.

I'm happy to report that there were no leaks or any issues after the faucet installation went smoothly.

I'm going to bed after a full but productive day.
