My Actifit Report Card: March 12 2024 - Finding the Fun in Every Day

Have you ever thought, "Wouldn't it be nice to just restart the day," while you watched your child play a video game?

When you have a few hiccups at the beginning of the day, it sounds good to start over, but it would also mean losing priceless moments.

That's why it's valuable to concentrate on the good things in life, such as the small pleasures encountered every day.

School Delights:

Today, for instance, I was poured with love by my kids.

As I entered the classroom they invited me to the class's “restaurant”.

I was seated and the table in front of me was filled with "snacks."

A special spread of lettuce, tangerines, and other unidentified greens was waiting for me.

It was a great chance to join in on all of their fantasies and practice naming fruits and vegetables.

A small boy, with excited eyes, enthusiastically listed his favorites, trying very hard to pronounce each one.

My day is made by these discoveries and moments of sheer bliss.

Coffee Break:

In the meanwhile, my coworker and I rewarded ourselves with a latte macchiato, which was the ideal way to unwind after a demanding morning.

This creamy combination is still my favorite, and the new coffee maker has been a lifesaver.

Adventures Outside:

We all stepped outside, feeling energized and eager for some sunshine.

After the heavy rain that kept us inside yesterday, the fresh air was a great relief.

We took advantage of the dry spell and enjoyed some outdoor fun with the scooters, bikes, and trikes.

While the kids were playing, I couldn't help but notice a neighboring spiderweb; its fine strands were sparkling with raindrops, demonstrating the creativity of nature.

A Small Setback:

Naturally, things don't always go as planned.

After a kitchen accident that sent dairy products flying everywhere, everything was quickly cleaned up and returned to normal.

Sadly, the playground did not have as much luck.

In sharp contrast to the earlier beauty, part of the equipment was vandalized with orange spray paint.

Not mindless devastation, but talent and a message are the hallmarks of true art.

Mud and Discovery:

In spite of this, the sound of youngsters laughing delightedly filled the air as they enjoyed the playground after the rain.

Mud puddles became creative spaces where everyone could express themselves: pies were made out of mud, twigs were turned into candles, and aspiring scientists happily shared their earthworm discoveries.

Focusing on the Positive:

The power of positivity and kindness is beautifully exemplified by a recent gesture from a volunteer at our school.

Yesterday, as Ramadan began, she invited the three of us to share an Iftar meal with her.

This incredibly sweet and thoughtful invitation is something we all three are honored to accept.

In light of that, I would like to send my sincere best wishes for a blessed Ramadan to everyone participating.
