From Amateur to State and National Champion
I recently updated you all on how entered the I Compete Natural Victorian Muscle and Model Victorian Championship and placed 5th in my division of Men's Physique in the whole state. Two weels on and it was time to hit the floor of the I Compete Natural Australian and Oceania competition. This time battling against people from interstate for the best in the country and from New Zealand.
Stepping onto the stage at the I Compete Natural Victorian Muscle and Model Victorian Championship was an exhilarating yet nerve wracking moment. It was my very first competition in the sport and I had chosen to compete in the Men's Physique category mainly due to the fact I had undertaken a lot of running in the past and my legs weren't as developed. The journey leading up to this moment was a rigorous one involving months of grueling training and strict dietary discipline which I have been updating you all on over that journey.
While I have been exercising as an amteur for years I am new to the world of competitive bodybuilding, the demands of adhering to a strict diet and training regimen were a whole new experience to me. My daily life for a big part included calculated meals and strenuous workout sessions although I quite enjoyed the training. I had to cut down to an extremely low body fat percentage, which meant sacrificing many of my favorite foods. However, the dedication I had for my goal fueled my determination to push through the challenges as I wanted to see how far I could take it.
When the results were announced at the state championship I was super pumped to have secured 5th place in the Men's Physique category. It was a gratifying experience and a testament to the hard work I had put into my training and diet. The sense of accomplishment was incredibly rewarding, and it inspired me to set my sights even higher in the national competition.
Being two weeks apart it was a lot easier to stick to the training and exercise routine but this time I switched categorys into full blown body building and once again landing me 5th place in my nation.
I can not explain how amazing it has been and how much fun the whole process was. It marks the begining of my future in Body Building. Stay tuned as next year I will be going back for 1st place!
