My Actifit Report Card: July 6th '23 & clean your city effort
Hi there lovely #cleanplanet & #actifit community,
Earlier birding like the day before, I started my day at 4:30 a.m. The early morning air was brisk, and I needed something to wake me up, so I brewed a big cup of coffee. To fuel my morning adventure before office, I prepared a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with pumpkin seeds and grabbed a bottle of peppermint tea.
However, I couldn't ignore the unusually cold wind, so I decided to wear long trousers and a windbreaker jacket.
To add a touch of style, I put on my fancy flower bike gloves and hopped on my bike for a morning spin.
As I embarked on my journey, I came across my first finding - a broken plant cup.
To my disappointment, the beautiful flower inside turned out to be plastic. Determined to keep the environment clean, I picked it up and threw it away at the next bus stop trash bin. Continuing my quest for debris, I headed towards the stairs behind the local soccer field.
There, I discovered a candy wrapper, which I used to pick up several cigarette butts scattered around.
To my surprise, I stumbled upon two bottles of beer thrown into the bushes. Recognizing their redeemable value, I packed them in my backpack to return them to the supermarket later.
My next stop was the city park, but someone had played a prank the night before by blocking the entrance with a chair from a nearby restaurant.
Undeterred, I found the park itself to be clean and devoid of debris. However, amidst the tranquility, I spotted a little hedgehog going about its business without a care in the world.
Leaving the park behind, I ventured into the lower-income housing area to check the bushes for discarded bottles. To my delight, I found almost a six-pack worth of bottles, but unfortunately, the last one eluded me.
Undeterred, I continued my journey and hit the first trail just as the sun began to rise.
The sight of the sun's rays piercing through the fog-covered fields and forests, drying up the rain-soaked earth, was a breathtaking spectacle.
After reaching the hilltop and taking a moment to enjoy my sandwich, I decided to head towards the nearby field to further appreciate the rising sun.
As I pedaled along, I couldn't help but notice how the rain from the previous night had left my bike covered in mud. I made a mental note to clean it on Saturday.
Returning home, I checked on my garden and was pleased to see my zucchini and cucumber plants thriving. The strawberries were also showing promising signs.
The dog that I had been taking care of since yesterday seemed to be enjoying the grass and the warmth of the sun.
The workday was uneventful, but there was one exciting piece of news - a new client had just purchased the project and expressed interest in buying the entire company. This unexpected development meant significant changes were on the horizon.
In the evening, I took the dog for a walk and cleared any debris from the dirt road. It was a satisfying end to a day filled with small adventures and moments of appreciation for nature's beauty.
Overall, my early morning birding expedition led me on a journey of discovery and environmental responsibility. From picking up plastic flowers and cigarette butts to redeeming bottles and appreciating the beauty of the rising sun, each moment reminded me of the importance of preserving our surroundings. As I retired for the night yesterday, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment knowing that I had made a small difference in keeping our world clean.
