Temprano en el cotejo los cañoneros se ponían en ventaja, tras un gol del brasileño Gabriel Martinelli al 16', aprovechando un rebote entre Alexander Lacassete y el defensor Adam Forshaw.
12' Minutos después llega el segundo tanto tan un robo de balón de Granit Xhaka y le metió un pase de profundidad a Gabriel Martinelli que lo dejó mano a mano contra el guardameta Illan Meslier y no fallar.
Faltando 3' minutos para irse al descanso; hubo un barullo en el área, donde nuevamente el Francés Lacassete le da un pase a Bukayo Saka, que dispara y tras un desvío marca el tercer y en lo personal sentenció el el partido.
El segundo tiempo pudo descontar el equipo de Bielsa tras una falta en el área de Ben White y fue sancionado penalti, que luego transformó el gol Rafhinha.
Faltando solo 6' minutos para terminar el encuentro, cae el cuarto tanto de Smith Rowe para la goleada 4-1 a los dirigido de Bielsa.
