I bring you warm greetings this morning from this area. Usually, I do not talk much about football but after watching the yesterday's match, I couldn't hold myself back from making a post on it.

I remember I was once a crazy fan of football, then I would watch every match played, especially by City, Liverpool and Barcelona. Anyway, changes happens and my interest in football diminished but not totally though.

Yesterday was an interesting day and watching the drama unfold between Madrid and City brought back the soccer spirit in me.

Guardiola's City Stay, Successful or not?

Success sometimes depends on the reference. On default, a manager who has achieved like Guardiola would be considered successful but taking references from Guardiola's past records before his City arrival, it might look like his stay at City is not entirely Successful.

Pep signed for City in 2016 since then, he was won three league cup for City but haven't been lucky with the UEFA champions league title even after reaching the final stage last year.

After City's last year trauma which saw them loose the title in a clash against Chelsea, it looked like this season was a perfect opportunity to redeem themselves but not after meeting a title hungry Madrid who has done wonderfully well for themselves so far.

Winning 3 league titles in 6 years isn't a bad performance for a coach or team but for a world class coach like Guardiola, more was actually required. No doubt, Champions league or not Guardiola still remains one of the best Coach football has ever known.

From the look of things, this might be the end of Guardiola in City but who knows, he and the club might choose to extend their relationship.

The Semi Final Match

City entered the pitch with a one goal lead over Madrid leaving Madrid with only home advantage. If I were to make a prediction before the match started, I would have undoubtedly gone for City but as you can see, football is no child's play, even if some are, the UEFA champions league is no game for amateurs. This we can learn from Madrid's 3:1 win over City

To me, it looked like City was playing to defend their 4:3 aggregate over Madrid. I didn't see them perform like the City I wished to see but I guess that was the match tactics.

However, I did enjoy some great performance from the likes of Bernardo Silva. I would have called him the man of the match if not for the introduction of Rodrygo. But anyway, Silva still remains man of the match for the City side and Rodrygo seems to be the secret hit man for Madrid. He s a determining player against Chelsea, and has now done same to City.

What went wrong for City?

Many will say football is a game of luck but I beg to differ from such statement. Although, there's a place for luck in everything but I still believe the game of football is more of tactics than luck. City did well by trying to hold possession but that didn't work out so well for them.

I'm no coach but I do not think the changes made by Pep was clever. I believe that there are players that their presence threatens the opposition team. Substituting Kevin De Bruyne and Mahrez was odd to me but I believe the manager did what he thought was best for the team and I totally agree.

Anyway, the damage has already be done and nothing we say or do will bring City back to this year's Champions league. They will have to try again next season.

For the time being, I'm patiently waiting for the final day between Liverpool and Madrid and God's Willing, WE WILL NEVER WALK ALONE. you know what that means, don't you?

The nightmare continued for yet another season for Guardiola. His team is good enough and I have no explanation as to why they always fall off.
